Angel's Woes

Angel, enjoying a warm fall evening
Found little marbles of peeballs this morning...again.  Angel's antibiotics ended on Friday, and now it seems that we are right back to where we were last week.  Just as Chucky's health issues seem to be ironing out, poor Angel is back in the hot seat.  Does anyone have experience with recurring bladder infections or UTI's, so The Hubby and I can get a handle on how best to proceed?  Your comments are very much appreciated, and we know that we will get her as right as rain again.  Thanks!

  1. Dang, we have all kind of experience with that but my situation might be different. What does your Vet say?

  2. Toby started out with bacterial UTIs but then it was stress related. The vet sent a sample to an outside lab for a thorough check. I switched him to wet Hill's C/D and have never had another problem.

  3. I have been told it takes some time for lady cats to get over a UTI. The pp marbles are due to that sensation of gotta go...and we all know it is painful. What meds have you tried and as Brian said what does your vet suggest.

  4. Poor Angel. Sometimes it make take several rounds of antibiotics in order to get rid of the UTI. In addition to talking to your vet, we suggest a diet of wet food only and add a little water to it.

  5. since you weren't able to get a sample it is hard to know if you are dealing with an actual infection or irritation from crystals.. Any chance you can get a urine sample to get it into the vet to test?

  6. Poor Angel. That can't be fun. We don't have any advice, although we can recommend petwellbeing.com for natural stuff. We may have mentioned this before (our mom's kinda old, you know).

  10. Awwwww....bless her heart. It seems that antibiotics for animals and humans have something in common. Sometimes they have to be repeated. I know that in human antibiotics, we need to eat well and get some extra vitamins, because the antibiotics (sadly) not only kill the bad stuff in our bodies but also the good, so we really need to replenish the good. Perhaps the veterinarian may have a solution.
