A Moment of Zen

The Eastside Cats allowed their humans to leave the house!

(Well, they were all napping at the time...and didn't need us for anything for a little while...)

Therefore, due to the beautiful weather, we ventured to Stony Creek Metropark, in Metro Detroit.

It was a delightful interlude; hope you enjoyed the images too!

Remember Me Thursday #RememberMeThursday #SeeTheLight

DID YOU KNOW?

Over 1 Million pets are euthanized annually. That number has consistently decreased in the last decade.

It is proven that the more awareness we bring to orphan pets results in: 1) Adoptions Increasing, 2) Euthanasia Decreasing, and 3) Puppy Mill Sales Decreasing.

Visit Remember Me Thursday to discover events held today in your area!

Shining a light on shelter animals, who are still looking for their furrever homes.

Our stories:

Every cat at Eastside Cats was adopted!

Adopted from a home with too many kittens (Celestial Angel and Chuck), from the street and alley (Hobo, Sweetie, Sammy, and Paddy O'Malley), and from a shelter (Manny and Chili Bruce).

Having volunteered at cat adoption events, I know that not everyone is ready to invite a cat into their home, but that isn't the only way to help shelter kitties!

-Volunteer at a local shelter or humane society.

-Discuss the horrors of puppy and kitten mills with folks you know; you'd be surprised at how little information is in the general public.

-For those of us with TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) experience, reaching out to assist folks who need help with ferals or strays, could be a life-changing experience for the cats and those who don't know what to do.

Let's Hop!

More hopping!

I am thankful for the loving animal community for pressing forward, day after day, to make the voices of the shelter animals heard!

International Day Of Peace

"Each year the International Day of Peace is observed around the world on 21 September. The UN General Assembly has declared this as a day devoted to strengthening the ideals of peace, through observing 24 hours of non-violence and cease-fire.

This year, it has been clearer than ever that we are not each other’s enemies. Rather, our common enemy is a tireless virus that threatens our health, security and very way of life. COVID-19 has thrown our world into turmoil and forcibly reminded us that what happens in one part of the planet can impact people everywhere.

In March, UN Secretary-General AntΓ³nio Guterres called on all warring parties to lay down their weapons and focus on the battle against this unprecedented global pandemic. While the message is intended for armed parties, solidarity and cooperation across borders, sectors and generations are also needed to win this new fight against the worst public health crisis of our time."

Visit UN.org for more details.

Let us all do what we can to make our world less violent and more peaceful.

1. Smile more, even when wearing your mask.  Your eyes will show the smile!

2. If you see a post that you doesn't match your opinion...scroll past it.

3. Sincerely try to walk in another's shoes; we cannot know what trials they are going through just by looking.

4. Reach out to those that you haven't communicated with recently.

4. Discontinue use of Round Up, which poisons not only the weeds, but damages insect life, birds, and our water systems.

Peace and love to you all!

Enjoy some cat artwork and cartoons that I've collected!
I don't know where most of them came from, so I have no attributions to include.
