However, I feel it's fair to give a cheeky squirrel a squint eye if it's chattering at me, or begging through my windscreen.

I really get to see a black squirrel in ohio. I enjoy this photo. We've been watching a gray squirrel in our backyard pack dry leaves into the large birdhouse that we have up for the owls. We're wondering if she's pregnant.

ReplyDeleteWe are starting to see the animals that were in hibernation, like the ground hogs. We had two dear in the yard not too long ago. Mom loves black squirrels and wishes we had them here. We cannot imagine one sitting on the hood of your car telling you off. They tell us off from outside the catio all the time. Thanks for hopping with us! ReplyDeleteThat was a cheeky squirrel. We put food out every day, but only the birds can get at it as our garden is fenced. We put up the "purrison" fence when the boys were young to stop Eric wandering off to a neighbour's farm and teasing the sheep dogs.

ReplyDeletedon't think I've ever seen a black squirrel though I've seen red a plenty, and black are supposed to be here ?? !! sometimes it's stroke of luck spying some one...when I still worked, a mink was chillaxin on the parking lot ( building was next to a marsh land ) !!! ☺☺♥♥
ReplyDeleteKent, Ohio is known for black squirrels while we see a lot of non-albino white ones here in the Southwest region of the state. My husband and I joke that it would be cool if crossbreeding created zebra striped ones. lol Thank you for sharing this. Our furry friends, wild and domestic, are a treasure. Be well!

ReplyDeleteWe have grey, black and the notorious red squirrels. I haven't seen one of the black ones that I recognize by the white patches on his/her rump and tail. Maybe it's a she with young in a nest. It also knows the sound of our doggy doors and is vamoose in a hurry if it hears it!
