April 17 is International Bat Appreciation Day!
Bats are vital to our world’s ecosystems and economy, but nearly 200 species are threatened with extinction.
A few amusing cartoons found on social media for you:

Thank you for the good wishes for my mother, and of course for Henry too!
Henry Update:
The vet's office decided he needed anti-nausea meds: Cerenia.
Turns out, the doxycycline antibiotic can be rough on a kitty's stomach.
A 1/4 of a tab every 24 hours, and I gave him some the minute I was back from the vet's.
Also made a nice slurry of churu goop and canned food, and syringe-fed Henry at dinner time.

Hope the medicine is the cure to this problem with eating since he has to take the antibiotic. I can't believe yesterday morning I stepped out on the patio with precious, looked up into the sky at 6:15 and saw bats! I was so happy to see them back.
ReplyDeleteSuch a fun post! π¦ Bats really do so much for nature, and it’s great to see them celebrated. I’m glad Henry is getting the right meds and some extra care--hope he feels better soon!
ReplyDeleteI hope the Cerenia helps with his appetite. Love the funnies!
ReplyDeleteWe have bats in and around our garden and love the fact that they eat mosquitoes!

ReplyDeleteAbout Henry, sometimes that med works and sometimes it doesn't. If it doesn't help ask for an Rx for Zofran and start him on 1/2 of a 4mg tab 1-2 times a day, whatever the Vet recommends. Purrs and prayers from all of us.
ReplyDeleteI am so glad to read that advice to you and Henry from Terry! xox
ReplyDeleteI loved the Bat cartoon!!!
ReplyDeleteI'm rooting for Henry. Emily and Willow send their best feline vibes. I love the cartoons-especially the cat one. Way to go, dimitri!

ReplyDeleteHope the new meds help! I think bats are adorable.
ReplyDeleteHope the meds have the desired effect and that Henry forgives and forgets.

The vet should have recommended a probiotic to go with the antibiotic. I hope the anti nausea helps. I like that last cartoon. :)
ReplyDeleteI do pray the Cerenia is helping.
ReplyDeleteBats are so amazing, I love watching them at the bat house at the zoo.
Boy did I misunderstand- I adopted a baseball bat
