Aww, Nuts!

October 22 is International Nut Day!

"A day to support small nut farmers around the world, educate consumers about the many benefits of nuts, and encourage healthier snacking."

When I searched my library for nut images, here's what was found:

😹
Exactly!

Especially humorous for someone who worked in the automotive fastener business.

Pecan nut on the floor, being used as a cat toy.

The Hubby and I have chopped walnuts with our morning oatmeal, and I personally cannot pass up a chance to snack on cashews.

We also keep a supply of raw almond butter around.

Over the winter holidays, we manage to score a bag or two of roasted pistachios.

Eastside Cats is a nut patron, and is thankful for them.

Let's Hop!

  2. Too bad the nuts that think they are good drivers don't see this sign...
We love nuts here, too. I often include them in my salads...and as snacks! Yum!

  3. I have picked up at least 2 bushels of walnuts in the yard. Used to try to crack them and use them. Too hard and too much work. Resorted to store bought for me and let the squirrels have a good winter supply. Love all nuts! Was out at 5 AM today and saw a falling star! Haven't been that lucky in a few years.

  4. Most autumns, #1 collects nuts from the numerous hazelnut trees in the garden and up the lane, but there was harvest this year after that incredibly dry summer. We'll be putting out stocks from previous years for our squirrels.
