What The Flap?
The Hubby has installed cat flaps in multiple places around our old house, to give Angel and Chuck access to rooms that we humans close up. These images are from the once-porch-now-family room, leading into the dining area. In the winter, this family room acts as a air lock, keeping the cold out of the main house. The family room also is a bit of a storage area, but every window has a set up so the cats can look out comfortably.
Although I refrain from showing photos of litter boxes, you are looking at one here. Notice the puppy pee pads taped to the knotty pine paneling, due to Chuck's insistence that he stand UP halfway through urination. He does not do this every time, nor every day...but often enough that we need to preserve the house! We believe this is a symptom of his constipation, or he may be getting arthritic. We have a holistic vet visit scheduled for this coming Saturday; this is one item on my list to discuss with Dr. Sheppard.
Well dat kitty was following you. MOL
ReplyDeleteAs to da piddle pads, they make high sided boxes fur elevator butt kitties, have you thought about gettin' one of those? As sis Lexi got older she too stood up higher when she peed. We's sendin' purrayers fur da VET visit.
Luv ya'
Dezi
we also send purrs and prayers for the visit! catchatwithcarenandcody
ReplyDeleteWe hope the vet will be very helpful. And the kittehs may not realize it, but they are very lucky to have such attentive hoomins on their staff.
ReplyDeletedood....ask yur mom ta ask de ewe noe whoo dood ...bout a korner box..... it has a low entry way but mega high sides for thoz oh us who like ta stand N take care oh biznezz !!! best fishes two ewe ♥♥♥
ReplyDeleteI was wondering why you had the puppy pads like that. I use them under the litter boxes for when someone goes too close to the edge. I hope all goes well with the holistic vet.
ReplyDeleteWhat a cool idea to put in cat flaps! We hope Chuck's vet visit goes well.
ReplyDeleteWe think the flap idea is very cool. In fact, now we want one to get into our mom's always-closed-off bedroom!
ReplyDeleteToo bad we don't live closer--we have all sizes and styles of (unused) cat boxes you could try. (Well, we *did* use them at one time or other until we got our gigantic Rubbermaid storage bin cat box.)
Love those kitty flaps! And the puppy pee pads are great idea. I hope Chuck's vet visit will go well xoxo
ReplyDeleteWow, the kitty flap is so artfully hidden next to the door--very nice! I hope things go well with the holistic vet. A friend of mine just started acupuncture on her 14 year old cat with apparent pain and stiffness in his hips. After two sessions, she says he already seems to be moving more and more easily.
ReplyDeleteWe have a great high-backed litter box made by Tidy Cats. Skootch is a high flyer, and even HE can't pee over the top of that one!
