You Otter Know

World Otter Day is the last Wednesday in May.

"The day was established by IOSF (International Otter Survival Fund) to help draw attention to otters, celebrate them, and raise awareness and support for their conservation globally.

The aim is to put otters on the map, and at the forefront of people’s mind!"

Otters look like water cats to me, and I love 'em!

  1. I love otters. They sometimes come up from the river into the stream in our bottom field.

  2. Thankfully river otters were reintroduced in Ohio a few decades ago and I was lucky enough to see the first ones! Now they are plentiful enough that fur trappers are allowed to hunt. Not that I like that much. I would love to see sea otters!

  12. Such precious creatures. Our local zoo has a special display about how otters reveal the health of our swamps and bayous and watching the otters there is great fun.
