Today is Celebrate Shelter Pets Day!
Always on the first Thursday after Thanksgiving, to me this event boils down to Adopt Don't Shop.
Funnily enough, of the eight cats that we've hosted at Eastside Cats, only two were adopted; all others were delivered free of charge by the Cat Distribution System, in our backyard.
Our anipal shelters need our help; please donate money and your time as you can.
❤️Thank You, Rescuers!❤️
Let's Hop!

Ditto ... ditto, paws up: only way to go.
ReplyDeleteWe are pleased as punch with our adoption of Precious, lol. Here 13 years and I think she's decided to stay.

I would add that all your sweet kitties adopted you and your husband. :D Best wishes, my dear.
ReplyDeleteShelters are so important. Same here though, 7 came from the cat distribution system and 2 came from our Vet. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteMy first 2 came from the cat distribution system, the last 4 were adopted.
ReplyDeleteSame here, out of all the cats I had over the years, 4 were from shelters and the rest showed up or came from someone who passed away. XO
ReplyDeleteGroucho came from a different kind of cat distribution process...he had to be rehomed by his first pawres=nts due to health circumstances with their new preemie twins... Suki, and Toki came from families who had too many kittens to keep them all...as did Pipo. Simba and Minko were rescues from bad homes...but our two pups are both rescues from Texas, though they came to us via two different shelters here close to our home in Michigan.
ReplyDeleteI often have to close my eyes if I see kittens at adoption events...B & D wouldn't do well with them...sigh...
I would hep out at ROAR or Froggy's Pond...ROAR is a foster based shelter and Dalton came from there, Froggy's Pond is a shelter for unadoptable kitties that my Vet maintains, in a beautiful building behind his practise.
The best reason for a celebration.
ReplyDeleteShelters need all our support, and towns without shelters need to build them.
