Where'd it go?

 It's H. S. T. B. F. F. Friday!

About 6 seconds into this video, Henry losses his toy.

Then he's got to figure out where it went to!

Finally, he finds it, then bunny kicks it like crazy.

What an entertaining kitty.

Am Pondering

October 9 is Curious Events Day.

#CuriousEventsDay

A day to wonder about anything that we've ever wondered about, and maybe even dig a little deeper into the mystery.

Here's something that I find curious:

Boston, Massachusetts

"The 1990 theft of 13 works of art from the Isabella Stewart Gardner Museum’s collection remains unsolved, although the Museum’s commitment to resolving the crime has never diminished since its occurrence. The Museum, the FBI, and the US Attorney's office are still seeking viable leads that could result in safe return of the art."

The Museum is offering a $10 million dollar reward for information leading directly to the safe return of the stolen works.  A separate reward of $100,000 is being offered for the return of the Napoleonic eagle finial."

Art by Degas, Rembrandt, and Vermeer were taken, along with a few other items.

Read more here.

Who did it?

Anything that makes you curious, add to your comments.

Am rather glad that I have little that would be coveted by others, enough to be robbed.

**knock wood**

Except maybe the cats.

Mess with my cats, and you'll live to rue the day!!!

2026 FatCatArt Calendar

❤️ Thank you for the kind words for Chili Bruce; he's as right as rain now.❤️

Ooh, I love FatCatArt!

Am an art historian at heart, and cannot get enough of classic artwork improved by the artist's cats.

Look at my previous FatCatArt posts:

Disclaimer:
I purchased 2026 Fat Cat Art calendar for my personal use. I only post about items that I believe others will enjoy, and for no financial gain for myself.

Sick by Stink

It's Twozday!

However, we only have Chili Bruce today, as he wasn't feeling well yesterday.
CB, napping after refusing brekkie.

He'd coughed up a hairball, and foamed at the mouth for a some time after, and wouldn't eat.

More alert in the afternoon.

However, Chili ate most of his dinner hours later, so we feel he's back up to snuff.

Will keep our eyes on him anyhow, just in case.

Since I'd found a dead stink bug just as all of this started, it's possible that CB chewed on it, and reacted to the secretions of the insect.

Dr. Google says drooling, vomiting, and diarrhea can result from a cat eating a stink bug, but the symptoms go away on their own, and to contact the vet if the cat shows signs of pain or is still sick after 24 hours.

Stink bug pic from the interwebs, and this is a pretty good match to the corpse that I found.

Since Chili only chewed on the thing instead of ingesting it, it seems he escaped more onerous symptoms.

P.S. Manny managed to eat up CB's breakfast, as the non-eaten bowl was set aside as the humans fussed with the sick cat.

I'd set the bowl on the counter, but neglected to close the kitchen screen door, so Manny took advantage of an additional snack.

❤️ Update: CB was purrfectly normal this morning. ❤️

Let's Ban Censorship

 Banned Books Week 2025

October 5 - October 11, 2025

Author and Actor David Duchovny said the following at an American Library Association "How I Library" episode:

"If you cloister a mind, if you ban books that disagree with the prevailing sense of what is right or wrong, or what is religious or non-religious, or what is affecting young people or not affecting young people; if you cloister that mind you leave it weak and undefended.

You have to go out into the marketplace of ideas to figure out which one wins for you.

You can't spoon feed people.

You can't spoon feed a culture."

::NO BANNED BOOKS::

For Sunday Selfies, we have a visitor.

This is Pancake, a 'hood cat who is very friendly, and adorably cute!

Look at that one white whisker.

We Can Do Better

October 4 is World Animal Day, raising the status of animals to improve welfare standards around the globe.

~~~
For Caturday, this image of Sly was just too good to pass up!
I only added a soft vignette to put the emphasis on those fantastic green eyes.
Smiley
"In 1963, an artist called Harvey Ball created the image of the smiley face for a local company.
The design was never trademarked, and lots of people liked it and began to use it.
It became a very well-known symbol and morphed into the emoji that we all know today
Ball didn’t mind that his creation became so popular, but he was worried that the original meaning of his design had been forgotten.
To remedy this, he created World Smile Day, and was first held in 1999.
The event runs each year on the first Friday in October, and attempts to spread some joy, and lift people’s spirits."
Read more here.
Here's a pic of a little smiley face pin that I've had for donkey's years.
A few sillies to make you smile:
Smile: it makes people wonder what you are up to.
Bravery
 Henry is getting bolder every day.
Here he is, on the bathroom counter, while I was present.
In the past, we knew he was up there, since the spider plant was eaten, and we could hear him jumping up and down.
But, he'd always vacate when a human was nearby.
Am thankful to have had my phone at hand, to record this momentous event.
Brave Sir Henry the 9th!
MORE COFFEE...
 10/1 is International Coffee Day!
Click here for more information.
Let's all visit our local coffee shop for a shot of espresso!
And a chocolatey tidbit.
😹 ☕️ 😹 ☕️ 😹
P.S. I rarely drink coffee.
The caffeine does weird things to me, so I stick to tea, which has less caffeine.
About twice a year, I'll splurge and drink a cup of decaf coffee.
The Hubby drinks coffee; he grinds the beans every morning, and uses a simple paper filter.
It's awfully bitter, and always piping hot!
I kid him by saying he likes coffee as hot as lava, and as black as sin.
