Read a Book Day

"6 September is National Read-a-Book Day, a holiday where book lovers, readers, writers, and illustrators can come together to celebrate prose.

This holiday is wonderful because everyone can celebrate: children who are too young to read can curl up with parents during story time; teens can share their favorite YA tales. and adults can turn to their favorite chapters in romance novels or spooky Stephen King horrors."

Some of my favorite authors have books coming out in the next six months:
  • Laurie R. King: Mary Russell series, Book 18 "The Lantern's Dance"
  • Susan Hill: Simon Simon Serrailler series, Book 12 "The Sound of Footsteps"
  • Nick Louth: DCI Craig Gillard series, Book 12 "The Body in Nightingale Park"
  • Joy Ellis: Jackman & Evans series, Book 10 "The River's Edge"
  • Elly Griffiths: Brighton Mysteries, Book 7 "The Great Deceiver"
  • Richard Osman: Thursday Murder club series, Book 4 "The Last Devil to Die"
  • Marion Todd: Clare Mackay series, Book 6 "A Blind Eye"
  • Anthony Horowitz: Hawthorne & Horowitz series, Book 4 "Close to Death"
  • Benjamin Stevenson: Ernest Cunningham series, Book 2 "Everyone on This Train Is a Suspect"
  • Jim Butcher: Dresden Files, Book 18 "Twelve Months"
  • C. S. Harris: Sebastian St Cyr series, Book 19 "What Cannot Be Said"
  • Ashley Weaver: Electra McDonnell, Book 4 "Locked in Pursuit"
  • Deanna Raybourn: Veronica Speedwell, Book 9 "A Grave Robbery"
  • Robert Galbraith: Cormoran Strike, Book 7 "A Running Grave"
  • Rebecca Yarros: The Empyrean, Book 2 "Iron Flame"
  • Kelley Armstrong: Haven's Rock, Book 2 "The Boy Who Cried Bear"
My cup runneth over with good writing, great authors, and terrific whodunits!

And do you know how much $$$ is spent on books?

ZERO!  ZIP!  NIL!

I get 'em from the LIBRARY.

September is National Library Card Sign-up Month

Get out, stay in, listen, turn a page, or swipe a screen; just read.
