In honor of June is Audiobook Month:
The Amelia Peabody series, by Elizabeth Peters, the pen name for Egyptologist Barbara Mertz (1927–2013).
The adventures of an British Victorian-era unconventional female Egyptologist Amelia Peabody, and an ever-increasing number of family, friends, allies, and characters both fictional and based on historical figures.
The novels blend mystery and romance with a wryly comic tone, and at times also parody popular-for-the-time adventure novels.

Great art! I am reading a vampire book* at the moment, and Manny would be a perfect illustration for it.
ReplyDelete*Stephen King's Salem's Lot. I have so many of his books that I can't believe it has taken me this long to buy it!
I like your colorful artwork this morning. My problem with the library is just one thing, they have too many books that I want to read and I will never get to read them all in my lifetime. That will be my one regret when I go.
ReplyDeleteAre you absolutely sure that's Manny and not a passing black panther???
ReplyDeletePurr,
The Chans
About Jackie's comment: there was a time when I absolutely "devoured" Stephen King ... and your list, reminded me of reading Amelia Bedilia books to my daughter way back when! Manny is performing well as a fly-catcher this morning!
ReplyDeleteGreat photo and art!
