March 3 is International Writers' Day.
To celebrate the contribution of writers, editors, and poets to literature, culture, and society.
A few author memes found on social media to celebrate the day:
Am a bookaholic, and will ask anyone I meet what they are reading.
So admire writers and authors!
Now that I'm retired and don't have that job limiting my reading/listening time, I'm focused on the 1,084 titles on my TBR list, which includes some of the folks who may read this post.
Let's Hop

Wow, that is a huge long list you have!!
ReplyDeleteAnd it doesn't include all the books in a series; I just add book #1, then if I like it, I'll dive into the rest. And I'll have to live to 800 years old to finish.
Deleteyup...
DeleteGreat memes! I thought my TBR list was long but yours leaves mine in the shade!
ReplyDeleteI ask every person to recommend a book or what title are they currently reading. Also, my siblings and I swap titles and before you know it...
Delete#1 is currently reading Raising Hare by Chloe Dalton and Memory Lane by Ciara Greene and Gillian Murphy.
ReplyDeleteI enjoyed Raising Hare, and have added Memory Lane to my TBR; will ask it to be added to our library's non-fiction book club list, thanks!
DeleteI am a bookworm. That's what they used to call people who read books all the time when I was a little kid. I read so many books this winter that I can't even remember half of what I saw. But I know I enjoyed every word, lol.
ReplyDeleteThis exact issue is why I keep track of my reading, so I don't forget that I've already read something.
DeleteYou sure have a large TBR list!! Those memes are great.
ReplyDeleteYes, it's nuts, and thanks.
DeleteWhat a lonely world it would be without writers! Currently reading (it can be read off and on) "On Character" by Gen. Stanley McChrystal. So good.
ReplyDeleteSounds interesting!
DeleteYou are sure gonna be busy with that reading list!
ReplyDeleteAh, the life of a retiree! And the library is just a short walk down the street.
DeleteReading is a wonderful way to spend time ~ enjoy each book ~ hugs
ReplyDeleteIt's travel for the brain.
DeleteLove them all, but the last one made me laugh out loud. I think it's perfect for a writer.
ReplyDeleteThank you for joining the Happy Tuesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Happy Tuesday. Scritches to the kitties. ♥
retired for four years…. do NOT miss a thing about the work force…if you like mystery….the murder she wrote series are good; as are the dark shadows books….neither of which are 100 percent based on the shows. the murder she wrote have about 5 authors, I like donald bain the best, the dark shadows are somewhat funny, but then I did literally run home from grade school to watch the program , so ~~~~~‼️‼️‼️‼️😸
ReplyDeletealso have every gothic romance I think ever written, by numerous authors, one of my fave is Victoria Holt/ Phillipa Carr….
Deletethe books she wrote under Carr are a series from one generation to the next, the books under Holt take you to different places 😸‼️
I've occasionally found people to be judgmental when they ask someone what they are reading. I read every day for 100 years it seems. I won't always discuss what I am reading. I have enough travail in my life thus far, I may be reading something charming. People don't want to hear that many times.
ReplyDeleteI like their weird brains very much, too, and can hardly wait to retire so I get more reading time.
ReplyDeleteThose are funny. :)
ReplyDeleteHaha! The one with the therapist made me laugh out loud!
ReplyDeleteI like the suggestion to write out a character
ReplyDelete:D
ReplyDeleteMy reading and writing time is limited by my life-span, about which I am quite miffed...
