Raccoon Patrol Begins

Raccoon paw prints in The 'O' Cats bowls

Raccoon's are no stranger to our yard, but I do NOT like them eating from my bowls.  If I have to stand guard while The 'O' Cats finish their meals, then I'll do it.  As cute as raccoons are, they can be viscious, and they have been known to kill cats.  In fact, a neighbor was sure that a litter of Sweetie's kittens was killed by raccoons, but why he didn't trap her to get her fixed, and allowed her to have another litter that I ended up caring for...?!?...well, now I've gotten off subject.

Raccoons shouldn't be near the food.  We cannot prevent them from existing in the yard, which is a little nature preserve, but I'll keep them away from my babies.  In fact, I thought Patty was eating up EVERYTHING, leaving no leftovers, since he's got the girth!

Dude, your making a oinker of yourself!

Super Bowls

Bowl Story #1: On Saturday this weekend, I was out thrift shopping, and I scored some bowls that I figure will be purr-fect for Patty O'Malley and Sweetie.  Every so often, a bowl gets cracked or chipped, so more are needed.

You may not be able to tell, but this two bowls
are the faintest of blue.
However, I hit the mother lode when my friend and I found an entire set of bowls and small dishes; she wanted the dishes, and I took the bowls.  Eight bowls in all!

Not the prettiest pattern, but hey, they were cheap!

So now I have ten...count 'em...10 bowls to add to our collection for The 'O' Cats.  If Patty pushes one off the edge onto the bricks (he does that at least twice a year), or if the dish-washer breaks one (The Hubby does that about twice a year), we have many more to use.

Cutie Angel, surrounded by furred fleece
Bowl Story #2: Couldn't help but notice that Angel's favorite day-time napping spot looks like a big, soft bowl. There is a cat bed under that fleecy cover, so she snuggles down and snoozes.  Angel has her own style of bowl game.

Eastside Cats Super Bowl Squares
Bowl Story #3: Oh yeah, there was some sort of fancy U.S. football game yesterday evening.  I enjoyed the Kitten Bowl that ran on the Hallmark Channel, and The Puppy Bowl (with Chicago Acro-Cats & Rock Cats Half-Time Show) on Animal Planet. The Hubby and I also play a little game, as if we were betting money on what the end-of-quarter numbers would be, and besides our own names, we fill in Chucky, Angel, Patty O'Malley and Sweetie.  This year, Patty won 1st Quarter, The Hubby got both 2nd and 4th Quarters, I nabbed the 3rd Quarter, but Angel won for the final score.

A fantastic Bowl weekend around here...how 'bout you?
