When we adopted Manny and Chili Bruce, Chili had one white whisker!
We didn't know that if he lost that one, he may not grow it back again.
Spitty, from Spitty Speaks Blog, always regrows his white whiskers, but the two cats have not yet gotten together to pass along the secret.
A few images of CB with that white whisker from years ago...
Hmmm, I think Katie Isabella and Toby have the occasional white whiskers too. OurKozmo is mostly black and he has white whiskers, so we think yours might grow back Chili! Have a marvellously Happy Day!
ReplyDeleteFascinating. And I agree that it might grow back just like any hair. Our kittens have lots of white sprinkles, interestingly. I think that might be what gives their coats a pretty sable look in bright sunlight. :) Be well!
ReplyDeleteThat white whisker sure is special as are both of your sweet boys!
ReplyDeleteThey are such cuties. My Drake is a black cat and all his whiskers are white. Thanks for the puzzle. XO
ReplyDeleteIt makes you look inscrutable
ReplyDeletePeno had all black whiskers when I got her, but when she became a senior, they started turning white!
ReplyDeleteRupert has mostly white whiskers, but he's got a couple solid black ones, and a few that are black at the base, and then white at the end! It's weird.
The white whisker was an easier way to tell them apart!
ReplyDelete#1 says that if black horses lose a patch of coat, it will sometimes regrow white!
ReplyDeletePurrs,
Tama and Genji
Chili Toby says not to worry that you will get that cute whisker back when you are an elder. That is when his grew and he loses it and it comes back. You are both so cute
ReplyDeleteHandsome with our without. Just my two cents.
ReplyDeleteHave a purrfect day. My best to your mom. ♥
MOL! The black ones are darling, white whisker or no white whisker!
ReplyDeleteLilah has only black whiskers. But Gabriel? Sometimes his white whiskers grow in black! It's very shocking and makes mom laugh each time
ReplyDeleteHow interesting!
