A response to I Have Three Cats' blog post "Snoozing in Black and White", when Da Boyz are mentioned as tandem black cat nappers.
Here are a few arty items gathered that feature twin black cats:
'Two Reclining Black Cats" 1913 by Franz Marc.

If you've got something good, why not have two, amIright?
So thankful for these two hooligans; love 'em to pieces!

Henry Update:
The thumb that Henry bit is fine; thank you for your concerns.
The H Man is doing well, except for those loose stools.
Have been in contact with the vet's office regarding this, and they feel our next step is chemotherapy.
We've discussed pricing, the medicines themselves, and the different delivery methods of an injection once a month or a pill every two weeks.
Jabs are in office; pill is given at home.
I am mulling over this information, and have discussed with The Hubby as to which makes the most sense for Henry and for us.
If anyone has been through this process, I'd appreciate your input.
Thank you!

Let's Hop!

Henry looks like he wants to sleep but the duo has other ideas.
ReplyDeleteGood to know your thumb is dong OK....but still...OUCH!
ReplyDeleteHmmm, Henry gets all stressed out in the carrier, and even just trying to get him in there. Maybe the pills would be the way to go...can the vet tech not come to your house, say on her way home from the office?? Or teach you how to do it? (That is, if it isn't an IV type.)
(I gave the B12 shots to our furry ones, cause the vet knew I knew how to give them, he just gave me prefilled syringes.)
Fun to see twin black kitties in all the pictures. And your twins! Sorry to hear that Henry may need to have such medicine for a while. Whichever way you go I hope it is the answer for him long-term. I'm glad to know your thumb is better, I do know that a bite can be sore for a while even when not infected.
ReplyDeleteHenry looks meowvolous here! Mom says she would go for the at home pill method. Find out if you can crush it is Henry's food. No reason to subject him to extra vet visits. Okay, so both Manny and Chili Bruce cannot be on the LEFT! Those were all cool renderings of two black kitties; though, the first one is very weird. The hop isn't working here. We'll link up over at Angel Brian's. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali
ReplyDeleteOopsie; I've fixed that!
DeleteYour twins are always so adorable! Henry, you are too and I hope all goes well with whatever the decision. Thanks for joining Angel Brian's Thankful Thursday Blog Hop!
ReplyDeleteThose brothers are just too cute. :) The Franz Marc work is really cool. We went through chemo treatments with my sweet cat Luna but she passed away from the cancer in 2014, so I can't offer any advice. :( Best wishes!
ReplyDeleteMy Oscar had chronic diarrhea - I mean the odor pealed the paper off the walls near his litter box - and nothing cleared it up...but he lived a good life for many years before finally succumbing to CKD , Purrayers and POTP to all of you.
ReplyDeleteSending purrs, Henry! Thank goodness your peeps took you in. Love the art, especially the 1913 one!
ReplyDeleteBeautiful art. Sorry Henry needs chemo.XO
ReplyDeleteI do enjoy seeing your two “hooligans” napping together.
ReplyDeleteI’m glad Henry is eating and hope whatever treatment you chose goes well.
Tough decision to make about Henry. I am glad he has you. It's good to hear he is eating. The two cuddling "hooligans" are a joy. I am happy they have each other. Henry's little fuzz face is especially adorable in the photo.
ReplyDeleteHa! The painting of the black cats among the flowers looks just like the boys. As for Henry, what aspect of his ailment is the chemotherapy going to be treating?
ReplyDeleteHenry most likely has intestinal lymphoma, characterised by the thickened walls. Or, could be IBD, but both are treated with chemo if the standard probiotics/steroid/B12 cocktail doesn't resolve everything. Once we got him eating, using anti-nausea & appetite stimulants, then it was ending his diarrhea. That's not happening, after a good two weeks with the whole shebang of meds, so we need to look to the next step. Home pills: a bit cheaper, every 2 weeks. Office shot: Once a month, includes anti-nausea shot, but it's a get-Henry-in-the-PTU issue. Actually, both chemos will need him to visit the vet.
DeleteLove these black cat works of art! I’ve been through this chemotherapy with both Ernie and Zoey so I know what your vet is recommending. Personally, I would go the oral pill route every 2 weeks (that’s what we did). The chemo, chlorambucil, is usually well tolerated by cats. And if you get it from a compounding pharmacy, it’s really not that expensive. If you want more info or advice, let me know.
ReplyDeleteWill reach out, thanks!
