*Waves To Crowd From Carriage*

May 24 is International Tiara Day!

"Barbara Bellissimo is generally regarded as the person who invented this holiday back in 2005.

She chose May 24th for the holiday because it coincides with Queen Victoria’s birthday, which occurred in 1819.
The purpose of this holiday is to encourage women everywhere to wear a tiara and get in touch with their inner princesses, and as a result, their inner beauty." - HolidaysCalendar.com

Only one tiara at Eastside Cats, and it belonged to Celestial Sweetie. ❤️

Purrfect for Selfie Sunday!

Henry Update:

Henry hid on Saturday morning, to avoid his meds.

Henryville has two bedrooms, the spare room, and the old kitchenette, as well as my office.

I must close doors to remove access to Henry's hideaways, but didn't latch one well enough, and it swung open enough for him to sneak off to the linen closet.

In the end, he received his doses.

Someone needs to do a better job of door management!

Let's Hop!

  1. Celestial Sweetie definitely carried off the tiara. I know who would be Queen for the life in this house and no it's not me, lol. Just as precious. Henry you're a sneaky boy, but that's what boys do.

    1. Sunday AM, and I made sure all doors were closed, so he was captive! I give him tons of love and smoochies.

  2. Sounds like Henryville is quite a place. You need to designate a keeper of doors, paid with a few weeks leave with perks. ;)
    Happy Tiara Day!

  4. Oh goodness, we didn't realize Henry wasn't up to par. Lordy, we've got some catching up to do. 'round here, dad occasionally calls mom "Princess" and me "Queen Bee". However he refers to us, he's our servant, both me and mom and we never let him forget it. We hope Henry's okay.

    1. The Hubby doesn't call me Princess, just spoiled brat, and thanks for thinking about Henry.

  5. Oh Dear. i believe we would call that a bit "OTT" on this side of the Atlantic!

Being fesity, eh, Henry? But the meds are good for you. Insists on treats instead.

    1. Sweetie was such a wee kitty, and she didn't fuss when I decided it was time for a photo shoot.

  7. Are mom is in deep trouble, as she did not know about tiara day. All of us girls needed to be wearing one and be included in the selfie. Lisbeth as a really good tiara selfie that Mom needs to look for. She uses that photo for several things. Door management at our house is a huge problem as well. Mom discovered Gibbs wandering around under the catio a few days ago. Our Dad swears he had not been outside or left any doors open, but that is very likely untrue! Gibbs came inside immediately when Mom called him. He needed the litter box. We are so happy to see Henry doing the selfie today. Sending him lots of POTP. Thanks for hopping with us!

    1. I was so bad at pilling Sweetie that my vet's office held a class for me, practising on one of the office cats. I wasn't any good back then. Now, with Henry, maybe it was his earlier slug-mode that made me think I could do it, since he barely fought.

  13. Sweetie could have been Princess Buttercup as she was so beautiful and loved by the people. ~grin~ Thanks for the giggles from the kitty meme and your apt quote from Little Shop of Horrors. lol As for kitty meds, it's the only real reason I regret our open floor plan. I wish the hall to bath and bedrooms had a door. If installation wouldn't be too expensive... Hmmm... You've gotten me thinking.

    Be well and best wishes!

I know that entire movie by heart, and my former supervisor loved it too; we'd kibitz about it during rough work days.
This old house has doors everywhere, but Henry had me tricked into thinking he'd always be lounging on the bed.

    1. Hmm, that's a fair point, but why not tiaras? Ladies and gents wear crowns; tiaras are unisex.
