"World Otter Day takes place on the last Wednesday in May each year.
The day was established by International Otter Survival Fund (IOSF) to help draw attention to otters, celebrate them, and raise awareness and support for their conservation globally.
The aim is to put otters on the map, and at the forefront of people’s mind!" -- IOSF Website
Otters are watercats, in my book, and they are adorable!

Henry Update:
I have been very fortunate here in ohio, to have seen some of the early river otters that were brought here. As the years have gone by they've been extremely successful. To my dismay they are now allowed to be hunted for fur.
ReplyDeleteI do not understand why they'd allow them to be hunted!
DeleteOtters are adorable! Go H-man!
ReplyDeleteI wonder how Henry would do as an otter; more a river-otter than an sea-otter, I think...
ReplyDeleteThey are most adorable.
ReplyDeleteYay on the Henry update. You're happy and so are we.
Thank you for joining the Wordless Wednesday Blog Hop.
Have a fabulous Wordless Wednesday. Scritches to the precious kitties. ♥

ReplyDeleteThe Detroit Zoo and The Toledo Zoo have otters. A quick search online says Michigan has river otters in the UP and northern LP.
DeleteHenry does look very content! Otters are the cutest.
ReplyDeleteThey are cute. :)
ReplyDeleteWe love us some otters! And look at you, good boy Henry ... posing like an otter. :)
ReplyDeleteOtters are the best, they let us know if the swamps are healthy or not.
ReplyDeleteThey are so cute! The giant river otter, on the other hand, is rather terrifying. lol Best wishes to you and yours!
