Cheaters

National Eyewear Day, on June 6, celebrates the fact that glasses, besides correcting our vision, can help create a whole new appearance.

Slang terms for eyeglasses:

Frames
Specs
Cheaters
Four Eyes
Shades

For your entertainment, watch the slideshow below!

Have been wearing eyeglasses since I was four-years-old, and let me tell ya, back then, there were only two options for children: pink or blue.

Then, years later, maybe a light tan, or clear.

Nowadays, the sky's the limit, and I for one am very pleased that kids are to be able to choose what shows off their purrsonality.

Update:

The H Man is doing well; eating, using the litter box, and mostly taking his meds without too much fuss.

He can really be a cutie pie ❤️.

Let's Hop!

  1. I've been wearing glasses only since I've been 12 years old. And back then the only choice was black or brown. Ugly ugly. Thank goodness Henry is handsome handsome.

  2. Henry is looking really adorable.
I used to wear specs from the age of about 5, till I was 22. Then I moved to soft contact lenses, for a couple of decades. Then back to specs and finally, when I was past 50, I had the laser operation. Yay! No specs since then!

  3. Excellent news about Henry! No spectacles for him I see! Thank goodness colours matter less these days for children and adults. All for liberation and choice: any colour treats will do for me πŸ˜‰
    Have a great week

  8. Mom didn’t get glasses until college; though, like you she should have had them at a young age. She has really bad astigmatism. She was shocked to see the individual leaves on trees from across the parking lot when she first got her glasses. She used to take them off to look “cute,” but now she is happy to have them. They hide a lot of imperfections. Good news about Henry. We, however, will continue to send POTP. Please tell him that he looks very handsome today and thank him for hopping. 18. Used to say I was "born wearing glasses", sigh ... and t'was awful being teased during those pre-and-teen years ... thankful when contacts came along. Now in old age, glasses again: multiple pairs for this/that/t'other. Hi Henry, keep on getting better, dear boy!

  19. I'm with Zoolatry. I got fitted with eyeglasses around twelve years of age and now have four pairs for various tasks. lol I'm sorry you got bullied; kids can be so cruel. Hugs, my dear.
