It's Walkin' and Readin' Wednesday.
King Sly allowed a proper amount of worship.
New cat!
A male carpenter bee (?) found on the sidewalk on a cold morning, so I walked with him cupped in my hands until he seemed active, and I set him down at a puddle in case he needed water. I'd lifted him with a maple tree samara.

Recent Audiobooks:
Hamnet, by Maggie O'Farrell
Narrated by Ell Potter
"Hamnet is a luminous portrait of a marriage, at its heart the loss of a beloved child." - Goodreads
Was pretty meh about this story, although the author really created a fascinating Agnes (Anne) Hathaway. I did not see the film.
Trust No One, by James Rollins
Narrated by Simon Vance
"A new stand-alone thriller that thrusts a group of university students, falsely accused of murder, into a treacherous hunt across Europe, all to unlock the secrets buried within a centuries-old book that could change humankind forever."
If you like Dan Brown's Robert Langdon books, then you'll enjoy this one; it was too short though! Am a fan of this author's Sigma Force and and Moonfall series.
Souls in Ruin, by Jacqueline White
Book #1 of The Soulbound Series
Narrated by Corvin King, Meg Sylvan, E. M. Wylde
"A dark and riveting romantasy following an illegitimate princess caught up in the revenge of gods, the first book in a trilogy about survival, obsession, and the quiet fury of a woman who won’t be forgotten." - Goodreads
Check your trigger warnings; this one is a bit brutal, yet a fascinating pager-turner, as our main female character gets knocked down, only to get up again, and again, and again. And she doesn't care if they are gods, 'cause her plan is to mess them up.

Called the veterinarian's office, to order the home-dispensed chemo pills.
Henry is NOT enjoying being pilled three times a day: 8 AM, 6 PM, then 8 PM, giving that 2 hour gap between probiotics and antibiotics.
We know that carting him once a month (plus check-ups) for treatments will be a nightmare too, so we'll medicate him at home.
They will call when things are ready.
Despite The H Man's being a bit wild, he LURVs being combed, and if you put your finger under his wee chinny chin chin and rub, he's a purring fool!
~~~
Let's Hop!
Best wishes as you progress to the chemo, for Henry.
ReplyDeletePoor Henry. Praying for you both
ReplyDeleteIt's good to know he enjoys getting his hairbrushed. Some good things come out of being a sick kitty. Once again I enjoy seeing all the books that you listen to on tape.
ReplyDeleteYou have the best neighborhood for "critter" watching of all kinds ... purring for dear Henry.
ReplyDelete#1 says that the James Rollins looks like an interesting audio book. She is currently listening to The Familiar by Lee Bardugo.
ReplyDeleteCrossing paws for Mr. H!
Purrs,
The Chans
Sweet kitties. Good luck with Henry's meds.
Has Sly lost weight? It may be the camera angle but he looks a bit thin to me. And Henry, I don't blame you for not liking to take pills three times a day.
ReplyDeleteYes, Sly is bony. I don't dare to pet him along his backbone; too knobby, so I stroke his sides.
DeleteInteresting books! Henry, we love you dude and we're all sending purrs!
I dont know how I missed it! Henry. I will have to go see what he and you have told us. Chemo does not sound good.
ReplyDeleteAlways nice to see visitors when walking. And good luck to Henry. I had a lot of the meds compounded into flavored chewable treats. Made med giving a little easier.
ReplyDeleteSly is looking thin. I hope new cat has a home. Sorry Henry needs so many meds. XO
ReplyDeleteIf only we could make them understand we're trying to help them :(
ReplyDeleteHenry, sending prayers. I love this photo of you by the window.
