October 18 is Henry's Gotchaversary; we brought him inside from outside two years ago.
He'd simply appeared in our backyard, then he stuck around.
Someone had already TNR'd him
Henry was very scared for the first year inside, then we took him for a dental at the vet's.
He returned that afternoon a changed cat, as the staff told me how they petted him, and he responded.
He's been a sweet kitty since.
Using my arm as his pillow.
No cares in the world.
And he's eating!
Henry's finished his chemo.
Have hit a span of time where he's eating what we set out, and his 'output' is solid.
Here's hoping we've got years and years ahead of us!
❤️ Love you, Henry The 9th ❤️
Thanks to the Cat Distribution System for pointing him our way.

Happy Gotcha Day and bless you for saving Henry

ReplyDeleteI wish you many happy returns of your Gotcha Day, Henry!
ReplyDeleteWe had a cat at the shelter who was mean and cranky, then had a couple of bad teeth pulled and became the sweetest cat. All the meanness was from mouth pain, and it’s possible Henry was a sweetheart the whole time, but simply was in pain. It’s hard to be nice when you are hurting.
Since then, if a cat is crabby or mean, I wonder about the state of their dental health.
I'm so glad you gotcha'd each other!
ReplyDeleteTwo years already? Wow. He sure a house-cat now, one lucky fellow.
ReplyDeleteAmazing! Happy Gotchaversary, Henry! Here's to many many more years filled with love, health, and happiness! XO
ReplyDeleteWith cats all over your neighborhood he could have gone to any other house, but he came to yours and waited for you to get with the program. What an honor. Con-cat-ulations!
ReplyDeleteI can't believe it's been two years. ~shakes head~ Henry is a smart boy. Thank you for being such wonderful caretakers. Blessings, my dear.
