Up Chuck

Chucky is chillaxin'
Chuck sprawled out

"Oooh, that woman and her stoopy camera!"
Weird how his eyes have a green cast in the photo
Thank you all for the kind comments for Chuck!

Since he received the Lasix shot and some more Lasix pills daily, The Hubby and I both have noticed that Chuck is livelier and back to his usual outgoing self.  He lost some weight too, which means that the fluid build-up in his body has decreased.  The vet agreed to allow us to wait for two weeks for Chuck to return to the office for a blood draw; seems that Lasix can mess with his kidneys and his potassium levels.

Guess we are just going to keep adjusting meds, and checking his levels of all kinds of things for the rest of his life. Chucky KNOWS that we are helping him as best we can.  He gets everything he wants, such as a third meal in the afternoon (Angel too, of course...), and sprinkles on top whenever they ask (nutritional yeast).

On top of their food!  Although, when I have a pinch of sprinkles between my thumb and finger, sometimes a cat moves in the way, and get some sprinkles on their fur!  They never seem to notice, and I won't say a word...😉

Chucky Update

"MOM! Take me HOME...NOW!!!"
Chuck waits for the vet to arrive
Chuck and I visited The Animal Clinic of Sterling Heights yesterday, as it was time for his check-up, and we had noticed that his breathing seemed a bit labored.  The doc listened and x-rayed, and decided that Chuck has a little too much fluid in his body, but luckily it wasn't around his heart or lungs.  She upped his Lasix (diuretic) daily pill amounts, and even gave him a shot of Lasix too.  I am to call her back today, to tell her how he's doing.  Chuck had lost a bit of weight too, but only a couple of ounces.  She said this fluid build-up is a symptom that can be easily managed.

Once again, Angel hissed at Chuck when we got home, because the vet tech who carried him to the x-ray room apparently took a bath in perfume, and he simply reeked of the smell.  The Hubby spent some quiet time with one hand on Angel, and the other on Chuck as they lay side-by-side after dinner, and he managed to calm them both into rumbles of purrs and then naps.  I got no such treatment, so I took off for a walk around the neighborhood to steady my nerves.  Breathe in, breathe out.  I had wrapped my scarf around and over Chuck while we waited, in hopes that it was a protective force-field, keeping the dog barks, baby cries, and general hubbub from overpowering my sweet kitty.  AND my brand-new cell phone wasn't receiving everything it should, while I fretted that I was missing work-related items, and personal texts and emails too.  Phooey, as Phoebe from 15 And Meowing always says!  Office I.T. fixed everything up nicely today, so that's that!

Lonely Beds

Both waiting patiently for some love
"We are lovely comfy beddys..."

Please ignore the extreme furring...
What is this...?

Angel was napping under the 'tent'
OH!  Angel is hidden under here...

Chucky's black fur soaks up the warmth!
...and Chucky is in the window, soaking up sunshine

"This old beddy is better than any new beddy!"
"I like this bed!"

Two beautiful crocheted cat beds...alone and unwanted
"Nobody loves us!"
