Chalked

It's Walkin' & Readin' Wednesday!

Chalk drawings found on my neighborhood sidewalks:
Fish or marine animals

Golly, have no idea...

"Never Give Up!"

Now I want a box of chalk for myself.

Humor Me: How Laughing More Can Make You Present, Creative, Connected, and Happy by Chris Duffy, narrated by the author
"For anyone who has tried out meditation, a new year's resolution or gratitude practice as a self-improvement strategy, HUMOR ME offers a fresh and exciting path to greater presence, creativity, connection and joy."-Goodreads

If This Be Magic: The Unlikely Art of Shakespeare in Translation by Daniel Hahn, narrated by the author

Henry Update:

Yeah, that didn't work.

I didn't give Henry his 8 pm appetite stimulant on Monday, to see if he would eat on his own.  He didn't/wouldn't eat Tuesday's breakfast.

*SIGH*

Therefore, he received the 1/4 pill with his 8 am meds, and he's eating well again.

I knew better, but allowed my logical mind to override my gut instinct:

Gut: "He didn't eat for days last week; leave him be."
Mind: "He's eating like crazy; time to scale back!"

*EYEROLL*

We enjoyed a quick cat nap together on Tuesday afternoon.

Let's Hop!

  2. Well, at least you know not to cut off that med too quickly...maybe a weanint=g process would be better? Nonethe less, keep on eating, Henry!

  3. That was fun seeing the chalk work in your neighborhood. Make sure what kind of interesting doesn't it. Poor Henry. Somewhere along the line there's got to be the perfect answer for him.

  4. #1 says that the Shakespeare book looks really interesting, as she has had quite a few discussions on the matter herself (being a professional translator and all that).

Looks like Henry needs a little more help, but you'll get there!

  5. Mom loves to laugh, and there is so little to laugh about these days, she is going to check on the second book. And English being one of her two college majors, she finds the concept of the last book fascinating, and will check that one as well. Thanks for the recommendations. When the bridge from our neighborhood was torn down two years ago for replacement, a huge party was held, and everyone was given chalk so they could write messages on it. Mom has already forgotten what she wrote. Good luck with Henry! We cats like to challenge you humans. As to riding on your back and shoulders, be careful what you wish for. Claws are always involved! 11. I understand the frustration you feel with yourself, but you're doing wonderful, my dear. Fingers and paws crossed, he'll resume and continue improving. :) You should absolutely get yourself sidewalk chalk! In fact, now you've got me thinking... A lot of neighbors walk here. Just yesterday a fellow complimented me on my blooming horse chestnut tree, which makes me want to put kind words out for all to read. Thanks for the idea and be well!

  14. You have some budding Van Gogh’s in your neighborhood

  15. Cutting back with Henry might be the next step, rather than going cold turkey. But I would have done the same, just to see. The chalk drawings made me think of "Galaxy Quest": never give up, never surrender! And you remember that, Henry.

  16. You have some creative chalk artists in your neighborhood! And as far as Henry...sometimes you just gotta go with what works. But I understand your feelings.
