Save The Stripes

"Tigers (Panthera tigris) and domestic house cats (Felis catus) share roughly 95.6% of their DNA."

July 27 is World Tiger Day, established to bring public awareness to the severe decline in wild tiger populations.

The 2026 Theme: Securing the future of tigers with indigenous peoples and local communities at the heart.

Disclaimer:
I searched online for copyright free tiger images, and found these.
Using them for entertainment purposes only, not to sell anything, just showing our love for our endangered world wildlife.

Below are images of Celestial Paddy O'Malley, probably the closest to a wild tiger that we'll ever get!
Oh yeah, he was scary in his ferociousness!

Be nice to tigers!

"Although extinctions occur naturally, the current rate of plant and animal extinctions is much higher than the natural or historical rates.

Habitat loss is the primary cause of higher extinction rates.

Other causes include habitat changes, over-exploitation of wildlife for commercial purposes, the introduction of harmful non-native species, pollution, and the spread of diseases."

Henry Update:

As predicted, Henry ate up food overnight.

However, he only licked one bowl clean, but left the other!

Both bowls had fiber powder mixed in, so that theory is falling apart.

Despite his confusing modus operandi, he's at least eating SOME, and there was evidence of poop-logage.

The Kid has been prowling around Henryville, and found a new place to hang out in the bright sun.

Took this photo while hiding behind a door, so as to not spook him from his new perch.

Don't Mess With The Penguin

"Penguin Awareness Day brings global attention to a group of birds facing mounting pressure.

There are 18 recognized penguin species worldwide, and many now struggle with shrinking habitats and limited food access.

This day centers on conservation concerns rather than treating the birds as distant symbols."

A few sillies:

Let's be nice to penguins, even if we laugh a bit at them.
