We will not purchase items made with feathers, as they are illegally sourced.

My video above are all of wild birds or birds cared for at zoos, except one Amazon Parrot who has been a part of a family for decades, and who I've had to pleasure of bird-sitting.

Am no bird expert; I just like them, and want to help them survive.

Part of my drive to remove all non-native species of plant from our property, is so the local birds, bees, bats, and mammals can enjoy.

Wild is Better

January 5 is National Bird Day
~~~
Birds are More Beautiful Wild.
The Avian Welfare Coalition’s National Bird Day campaign aims to reduce the suffering of birds by raising public awareness of the destructive bird trade, the realities of cruel bird breeding mills, and ways to improve the welfare of birds already in captivity.
Flying Flippantly
Recognized on the last day of the annual Christmas Bird Count, National Bird Day is widely celebrated to raise awareness of the treatment of birds in captivity and promote the conservation of wild birds.
I love birds; love to watch them as they flit about in the trees, but am crap at identification despite the four bird books within easy reach.
Am very aware that outside cats will try to snatch birds for a meal, yet we only witnessed one bird killed by our outside cats...and that was by Celestial Paddy O'Malley.
Sweetie was an excellent mouser, by the way.
In honor of birds, here are a few joking cartoons and meme re: birds and cats.
 Have already warned Trout Talkin Tabbies about today's post, as they really don't like 'burds'.
