James McNeill Whistler, born July 11, 1834, was an American painter based mostly in Europe, in the Modern art, Aestheticism, and Tonalism esthetic styles.

The iconic image is so renowned, that it is a part of our everyday life now:
"Whistler's Mother" by artist Godfrey Escota, image found online.
Can't decide if she'd rather have had a cat or a baby dragon in her lap.
(Sometimes, a cat IS like a dragon...no?)
Am a fan of Whistler's work, and wish him a Happy Celestial Birthday.

For Caturday, hope no one minds that I've got a cute pic of Henry...again...that I've artified with Prisma's Jellyfish filter.

My gosh, did you eat Whistler's father?
ReplyDeleteWild artwork of Henry! He looks like he got startled out of a sound sleep before you took the picture. Every mother should have a cat on her lap when we're all cat moms. Even if we are not in the artwork.
ReplyDeleteThe NYorker's version is a wowzer, tho a subscriber, missed this one. Your HENRY pic today is awesome ... well done friend.
ReplyDeleteHenry's expression...That's a good side-eye! Great filter... always cute Henry!

ReplyDeleteThank you for the giggles. Beautiful artification! I appreciate all your photos, my dear.
ReplyDeleteLove the art, Henry! The orange cat one is so funny!
ReplyDeleteLove the original, and the fun takes on it.
ReplyDeleteIt’s always nice to see Henry.
Mom did a double take when she saw the dragon. We think a cat is much more likely and believable. She loved the photo of Henry and the art effect. She's already done the puzzle and thanks you.
