Postcards from NYC: Stray Cats

More feline shenanigans in New York City:

1. The Algonquin Hotel Cat

Image borrowed from social media
Just a few blocks from the New York Public Library building, is The Algonquin Hotel.

The Algonquin is famous as the meeting place for a group of writers, critics, actors, and wits, gathering for lunch each day at the Algonquin Hotel from 1919 until roughly 1929.

However, the REAL celebrity are the resident cats, since the 1920's; males are named Hamlet, females are Matilda.

Unfortunately, Hamlet was busy elsewhere in the hotel when we stopped by for a visit.

The doorman gave me a Hamlet postcard!

2. Cat attire as seen on the street:
Love this sweater!

We attended a comedy show here!
Okay, the truth is that the comedians were only so-so, and each one said 'we were a tough crowd'.

Maybe they each needed better material, as the emcee got more laughs than any of the dudes.

My favorite lines were from a comedian relating stories of working at a convenience store during the early days of the pandemic, when a someone robbed him, then stuck around because neither of them had talked to anyone for a long time.

We had an exciting time driving through Times Square via Uber that night; no photos to show of the lights, the huge advertising signs, and the hoards of people.
