Again at Ferndale's Catfe' Lounge

My sister visited from out of town, and she, Mom and I went to hang out with the cats at Catfe' Lounge in Ferndale, Michigan.  We had a great time!  Here are some kitty photos for your enjoyment:
Sleepy kitty!

Snuggling sweeties

Torty behind bars

Oh noes!  Not the Shark!

Waiting patiently for playtime

Gorgeous kitten

Sleeping despite the hubbub

Shy guy sleeping near the ceiling!
My mother is not as mobile as she'd like to be right now, so sitting at the Catfe' was purr-fect for her. My sister shares her home with a cat (MAGOOOOOOOO!), but I knew she'd enjoy the kittens and other sweet kitties.  Me...I would have laid on the ground and let cats and kittens climb all OVER me...if given the chance.  In addition, chatting with other cat-crazy humans is a delight!

Once again, I offer to be taxi service to The Ferndale Catfe' Lounge to anyone who wants to go!  Here are my other posts about this wonderful cat adoption center: Vacation Travels: Ferndale Catfe' Lounge and Ferndale Catfe' Lounge Friday with Sue from The Island Cats.

Book Review: Staying Strong for Smokey

I won a copy of "Staying Strong for Smokey" from Cat Chat With Caren and Cody awhile ago, but I honestly didn't want to open it up! Just thinking about a child losing a beloved cat is heartbreaking.

However, "Staying Strong" is well-written and illustrated, and straightforward; your cat is very ill, and needs to be released from further pain.  Adults can rationalize all they want, but children think differently, and will use this book to help them to understand that their pet is dying.

More 'Hood Cats

This sweet girl is tentative at first...
...then warms up!
This is Kiki...
...an elderly gent, but he knows who his friends are!
Am sorry to say that I cannot remember this
kitty's name!
Do you see them?...
...Two gorgeous gingers, and I know they are
both mancats, but haven't heard their names...yet
Boots makes another appearance...
...as does my Patty O'Malley look alike!
Ghost cat!
(Just kidding, it's a cat statue that I adore!)

Hello Kitty Mercedes Benz

While on the road this weekend, I spied this fancy Mercedes Benz vehicle, with a Hello Kitty sticker on the back window.  Nice!

On Wednesday, I had to pleasure of meeting The Island Cats blog Mom, Sue Doute, aka The Lady with the Yellow Hair.  We met up at the Ferndale Catfe' Lounge, in Ferndale, Michigan and spent at least an hour playing with the adoptable kitties.  A great time was had by all!  Here are some images:

Sue with a sweet kitten on her lap!
Just too adorable, and don't tell
Wally, Ernie or Zoey about it!

This is Max; he liked my lap!

Another sweet kitty

"Z-z-z-z-z-z-z"

In the back, they have places for shy cats

This kitty just stared down at us.
I gave a couple slow blinks, and he responded,
so he would warm up when there wasn't so much of a commotion

And this is my bag as mentioned in yesterday's post
Two Butt Thursday
and this kitten wanted inside!

Two Butt Thursday

Chucky Two Butt is a topic that I've touched on before.  After the vet shaves his tail for a blood-pressure reading, Chuck sports a little pinkish bare spot, which from a certain angle, looks like he's got two 'starfish'...if you know what I mean!  The Hubby calls him "Chucky Two Butt".

Here are photos from this morning; you can plainly see that Chuck's tail has a whole ring of missing fur.  Over two months ago, the vet shaved his tail, and there was a bit of a sore, which the cat just kept licking and licking.  The Hubby and I shaved around the way around, to affix a bandage to help heal the scab. But his fur is NOT growing back!  The neighbors must think he's got a touch of mange or something.

We visit the vet again in early August.  The sore spot is long gone. My poor Two Butt Chuck.

P.S. My Laurel Burch tote bag was a gift from friend BG, and I love it! It figures prominently in a future post...tease tease!

Cast Away!

I played with my Prisma app, and a Patty O'Malley photo. He looks like he's on driftwood, floating out at sea, and hoping for rescue!

"I'm gonna get you, my pretty!"
A big difference from the original, where he was chattering at the birds!

Groovin', on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn't get away too soon

I can't imagine anything that's better
The world is ours whenever we're together
There ain't a place I'd like to be instead of

Groovin', down a crowded avenue
Doin' anything we like to do

There's always lots of things that we can see
We can be anyone we want to be
And all those happy people we could meet just

Groovin', on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn't get away too soon

Ah-ha-ha
Ah-ha-ha
Ah-ha-ha

We'll keep on spending sunny days this way
We're gonna talk and laugh our time away
I feel it comin' closer day by day
Life would be ecstasy, you and me endlessly

Groovin', on a Sunday afternoon
Really couldn't get away too soon

Getting Furred

A close up of my furry shirt

Petting Sweetie...!

...and more petting!
Sweetie turned into a complete love bug as the sun set last night!  I sat on the deck, and she head-butted and side-swiped me so much that my t-shirt became covered in Sweetie fur.  She actually sat next to me, and allowed me to pet her too, which was a first.  Trying on enjoy the moment, I did not take many photos.

Delightful!

And where was Patty O'Malley at the time?
Hiding under the feeding station!
There were thunderstorms nearby, but they went around us. We heard thunder though, and Patty felt it was more prudent to be under something heavy to use as an umbrella, rather than purr and pet with me.  It's all good, Patty!
