Actually, we have visited often, since we are both residents of Metro Detroit, Michigan, but due to the pandemic, we've only been corresponding by texts and emails for too long.

A wonderful chinwag was had; just us two cat ladies, and one housepanther who desired his own company.

Below are some images taken from other outings that Sue and I have been on together, and I am thankful for her friendship and mentorship, as I've slowly navigated my way in the cat blogging world.

Cat VideoFest 2020 Report

We are so thankful that the Detroit Film Theater has hosted the Cat VideoFest again!

The director actually held up the showing, since this was the first one for 2020,

and we all could tell that he's not really a catman, but he's all for filling up the seats!

1,000 people, and there were six showings in all.

Part of the money raised is donated to the Michigan Humane Society, which is where Manny and Chili Bruce came from.

Eastside Cats 6th Blogoversary!

I made our first post on September 22, 2013:
Parking Lot Cat.

The first comment appeared on September 23, 2013, Nine Years, and it was an emoji!

By January 14, 2014, we had received three whole comments, for:
I kissed a cat...and I liked it!

And so it goes.

Before this blog, I emailed stories of our cat life out to friends and relatives, entitled "Crazy Lady With Cats".  My first tale was about "Ghost Cat", where I freaked myself out when discovering a silent, all white 'cat' on my deck.  It turned out to be a gift cement statue, but in the moonlight, it was spooky!

Here are photos that I took, but didn't include, in that first post:

Through the years, I've found a rich, loving community of blogging friends, from whom I've learned so much.  With the addition of Facebook, my cat world has expanded, and then the addition of Instagram and Twitter...the sky is the limit! 

I've loved your cat, dog, fish, etc. stories, and I've mourned deeply for your losses, and been joyous when new furry and finned family members have joined the ranks.

Thank you to The Hubby, for his support!
I credit my mother for her encouragement to write about our cats.

I give props to the cat mom at William's Kith and Kin, for hers was the first cat blog that I followed.

And to a couple whom I met many years ago, P&M, whom have shown me great friendship, and who have supported my 'Cat Kook' lifestyle from afar.

Detroit's CatVideo Fest

Thankful Thursday: CatVideo Fest 2019

On Saturday, March 9, I met up with friends Sue from The Island Cats, and Beth (BG) to watch "CatVideo Fest 2019" at the Detroit Film Theatre.  We also bumped into Cheryl from Black Cat Pottery!

Happy To See Sly!

I try to walk the neighborhood each evening, yet it's been difficult with the amount of snow and ice that we've accumulated recently.  Yesterday, however, I got out there, even walking in the street part of the time to avoid slipping, and image my delight and joy to see Sly!  I was so excited, that my photo is not level, but his glorious fur and green eyes are looking fantastic.  He's a floof-monster!

Wally Wednesday

I am so lucky to have visited The Island Cats! 

We live on different sides of Detroit; we are northeast of the city, and Island Cats are south.  I visited with Wally, Ernie and Zoey (so much FUN!), but I refrained from playing too much of the photographer as I was their guest.  The lady with the yellow hair, Sue, and I ate at Bobcat Bonnie's in Wyandotte...yum!  We then headed over to see if Chip and Slim, The Garden Center Cats, would come out and visit us at her husband's place of business.

He says that I'm hallucinating!

Imagine my surprise, Scarlet lives there too!  I said hello; she simply eyeballed me the whole time.

Chip was first to leave his napping spot in the shelving, and he enjoy his snacks!  He allowed me to get within a few feet of him, then he'd decided that I was close enough.

Chip says, 'Whoa!  I'm just about ready to run away!'

Slim was much more shy, however he graced us with his presence, and look, his ears aren't even airplaning!

Slim made sure the straw bale was between us!

As you know, I too have 'feral' cats: The PO'M and Sweetie, called The 'O' Cats.  Although they respond to me and The Hubby, they really don't do well with other people.  Same with Chip and Slim; they know their regular folks, and just try to ignore the rest of us as we make kissy sounds and click away on our phones!

What a delight to visit with all of Sue and The Island Cat's Dad!  Thank you both again!  You know what?!?...I too want to be an Island Cat! 

Cat Tile Tuesday

Love the cobalt color!

My friends, I stumbled upon Sligo Creek Tile Co. quite by accident!  First, I saw a gorgeous black cat tile of theirs while visiting The Island Cats last year, and came upon more beautiful tiles at an art show in Detroit.  Finally, I screwed up my courage and sent an email.  I had my tile within days!  A birthday present to myself, and it enjoys a prominent display spot in my home cat art collection.  Please go visit Sligo Creek Tile Co. and find some wonderful tiles for yourselves.

Two Purrfect Ways To Cafe'

Where do I go to cafe'?  Why, to Catfe' Lounge of Ferndale, Michigan!  A part of the Ferndale Cat Shelter, Catfe' Lounge allows adoptable cats and kittens to roam freely, so potential adopters can meet their new family member, looky loos can look, and folks like me and my friends can visit and simply get their hands all over more CATS!  No names, please...most of these kitties will all be adopted before this post is published, but we had a terrific time playing with them, and engaging with other cat people, plus there is a gift area too.

Yes, I've posted about The Catfe' Lounge before, here and here, but why wouldn't I want to go back time and time again?

All that cat play made us hungry, so we next 'cafe'd' at Three Cats Cafe in Clawson, Michigan!  The food is excellent and freshly made, and the ambiance is terrific.  There are yummies to fit anyone's taste buds; even my vegan ones.  Another purrfect cafe' for our day!
