Our First Twins

It's been a rough, tough couple of years, for all of us.

As I pondered what makes me thankful each day, my mind cast back to our first cats, who were...if not twins...then littermates.

Angel and Chuck.

They started it all!

The Hubby and I became bonafide cat people, in the moment that these two entered our lives.

We are beyond grateful, thankful, overjoyed, and captivated by any of the feline persuasion!

Guess you could say, Angel and Chuck were our 'starter' cats.

The depth of our love for them was supremely apparent on the day that we left both of them at the veterinarian's office, for their spay and neuter surgeries.

You all know that feeling!!!

Critter TV

It's Sweetnesday!

Many of our Sweetie images are taken as she lounges in her favorite spot, next to the window.
That's because she watches plenty of Critter TV!

Today's episode: Groundhog.

My Aching Back

It's Twozday!

After each visit to my chiropractor, I lay down on the futon with my knees on a tall pillow.

Stretching out my spine is a good thing!

Manny and Chili Bruce snuggle up to me, and fall asleep quickly.

When I get up, Da Boyz are always adorably sleepy!
What fine kitties they are, helping out their humom with their presence.

One Must Do One's Duty

It's PO'Monday!

Paddy O'Malley liked to snuggle with me.

I obliged him.

On vacation from work this week, and am thankful that I have a job that grants me time off.

Realized that one's brain goes off on vacation from time to time too.

In Sweetie's Apartment

It's Sweetnesday!

The Sweetie Apartment is mellow and purry...
Turn up the volume to hear Sweetie's quiet purrs.
She left me another smiley face.
Her eyes are beautiful!

We trapped Paddy O'Malley on 3/19/12.

He was transported to the low-cost spay-and-neuter clinic on 3/20/12, and we picked him up on 3/21/12 to release him into the backyard.

Paddy was the only cat, so far, that when released from the trap, walked straight up to me for head bonks, instead of running off.

Yes, our love affair began then, and continues now in spirit form

Not having him to hold, to smooch, to laugh at, and to feel his rumbling purrs, is dismal, but the memories of such joyous emotions, along with 10,000 plus photos and many videos, soothes the soul.

What date should we use to celebrate PO'M:
3/19, 3/20, or 3/21?

My birthday is Sunday, so he and I will always have that shared experience, on our special day.
I jazzed up this image using my Prisma app.

Cat Art History: Franz Marc

Franz Marc (1880-1916) was a German printmaker and artist; he is considered to be one of the key figures of the Expressionist movement in Germany.

Expressionist artists often employed swirling, swaying, and exaggeratedly executed brushstrokes in the depiction of their subjects.

These techniques were meant to convey the emotional state of the artist, reacting to the anxieties of the modern world.

Franz Marc painted horses, elephants, deer, cows, gazelles, foxes...and cats!

💖We love you dearly, feisty Swee Wee!💖
Oh yeah, there are other minor holidays on March 17...St. Patrick's Day (you all know him!) and The Feast of Gertrude of Nivelles, the patron saint of cats.
My St. Patrick's Day Cat Socks.
I spent 33 days in Ireland years ago, and soft days were common.
Going back to Ireland is on my 'to do' list!
