They were in a litter of four: two all-black, and two cow-colored, just like their mother.

Both gave great hugs, and we send them warm fuzzies at The Rainbow Bridge.

August 29, 2004 was the day we brought littermates Angel and Chuck into our home.

Angel, so easy to photograph due to her pink, white, and black coloring.

Chuck, originally named Chocolate because we thought his fur was dark brown.

What a pair!

Angel and Chuck led us on our first journey on the Cat Distribution System.

And look where we are now.

Sending kisses and belly snuggles to you two at The Rainbow Bridge; our starter cats.

Forever in our hearts.

21 Years Ago

 Celestial Chuck and Angel were born on July 18, 2004.

They were two of four kittens in the litter.

The Hubby and I hadn't a clue on how to care for kittens or cats, so Chuck and Angel were our 'starter' cats, from whom we learned so very much.

Especially, we learned LOVE.

Originally named Chocolate, shortened to Chuck

We lost my father in May, 2004, so Angel was a nod to his memory.

Our sweet babies, we miss you, and will always be grateful for your presence in our lives.

Newest Ink

Today, I am thankful that I can express myself with body art.

Chuck and Angel, wrestling as kittens, in December 2024.

Book reading dragon, with a cat on it's head, last week.

Brandon at Studio Seven Tattoos really gets my vibe, and I am so very glad to have found him.

Seriously, I was at the UPS Store in the same strip mall, and while waiting for traffic to clear enough to get to The Cat Car, I saw the 'tattoo' sign, and I walked right in.

The woman at the desk and I hit it off like we were old friends: cat lovers, book lovers, and live in the same city.

Once I'd described my intentions, she recommended Brandon, and the rest, as they say, is history.

*whispers: don't tell him that I'm the same age as his MOM!*

Two Years

It's PO'Monday!

Guess what?

It's been two years since my Paddy O'Malley tattoo.

Yes, it's unconventional and silly, and so was he.

Seeing Himself often, as artwork on my body, has helped ease the grief that I'd felt since losing him in such a surprising way.

He was my ❤️ cat.

Since the above, I've been inked with Da Boyz and Sweetie, as well as a crescent moon holding a cat, a homage to the Solar Eclipse from April, 2024, and a sparkling star.

Next on my hit list:

Angel and Chuck

Won't show a pic of the new tat; will reveal when it's properly unwrapped and healed.

When the artist stepped away and turned off his tattoo pen, I looked at my Celestial Babies, and whispered, "Oh, it's so good to see you two again!"

Twenty Years

 18 July, 2004

Angel and Chuck were born.

These two kittens began our everlasting love for cats.

We are so very, very thankful for them!

Missing!

It's Twozday, and we had a mystery on our hands:

Manny's favorite ribbon toy DISAPPEARED!

The Hubby searched.

I searched.

I search again and again.

"Missing!
Have you seen me?"

Manny was disconsolate.
"Where, oh where are you, my ribbon?"

Finally, on a hunch, I dug through the pile of newspapers.

And there it was!

Da Boyz were giddy with relief.

Well, Manny certainly was delighted.

CB prefers the bug-on-a-string toy.

Really, how the heck does one misplace a cat toy like this?

Weird, but thankfully, the mystery was solved.

(It's a Cat Dancer Cat Charmer, technically.  CB's toy is a Neko Flies Teaser Toy, and they are both really old, having been purchased when Celestial Chuck and Angel were little.)

21 January is Squirrel Appreciation Day.

In our yard, we have Eastern Grey Squirrels, the black-furred version of the Eastern Grey Squirrel, and Fox Squirrels, and is a Squirrel Heaven; lots of trees, rooflines to run across, and plenty of notches, crooks, gardens, and such to bury their food.

A blast from the past: Celestial Angel and Chuck being highly entertained by a squirrel enjoying the helicopter maple seeds that came to rest on the flat roof over our front room.

Squirrels are a bit like tree cats, no?

Well, anyhow...I think they are cute!

Myth: Disproved!

Funny how I remember Celestial Chuck and Angel being solitary cats, but I've found evidence to the contrary!

They both enjoyed watching the outside world from the upstairs bathroom:

Dual Gotchaversary: Chuck and Angel 8/29/04

Sweet babies; littermates Angel and Chuck taught us a vast amount about being owned by cats.

Neither The Hubby nor I had ever been in thrall to felines prior to 8/29/2004.

Kitten Angel, so named for my father who'd very recently passed.

She was a beauty, with delightfully soft fur.

Brown Baby Chuck, hence the name Chocolate, Chucky for short.

What a cat, despite years of health issues.

Just gazing upon these photos brings back so many memories, and of course, we have small shrines to both of them.

We'll always have cats in our lives now, especially housepanthers.

Our First Twins

It's been a rough, tough couple of years, for all of us.

As I pondered what makes me thankful each day, my mind cast back to our first cats, who were...if not twins...then littermates.

Angel and Chuck.

They started it all!

The Hubby and I became bonafide cat people, in the moment that these two entered our lives.

We are beyond grateful, thankful, overjoyed, and captivated by any of the feline persuasion!

Guess you could say, Angel and Chuck were our 'starter' cats.

The depth of our love for them was supremely apparent on the day that we left both of them at the veterinarian's office, for their spay and neuter surgeries.

Celestial Angel Plays Fetch

I promised Living With Loulou that I would find a video of Celestial Angel playing fetch with her crinkle ball!

It's a bit long, however it's fun to see how Angel freezes when her brofur Celestial Chuck shows up!

This video is from 2004 or 2005.

Please excuse the poor quality of the video, and the obnoxious audio from the television in the background, but our technology at that time was primitive compared to what we have today.
