It's Caturday!

A recent pic of Manny and Chili Bruce happily napping together, and artified in Prisma using the Drawing filter.

If I had to guess, it's Manny on the left, with CB almost in a ball at right.

A Henry health update:

He's my sweet boy ❤️

Henry's vet visit on Tuesday went well, at least for me.

He left a poop in the carrier, but it was a tootsie roll poop!

His test results say his liver values are good: no more antibiotics needed.

Also, reducing his steroid pill to one every other day.

His B12 and prebiotics remain, and I'll continue with his appetite stimulant and anti-nausea meds as he's got one last dose of chemo in a week.

The tough part, is finding food that Henry will eat consistently, without causing diarrhea.

We are working our way through this hiccup, and spoke at length with the veterinarian and staff regarding the issue.

Next visit in three months!

Get Out and Boo!

The last Saturday in September is National Ghost Hunting Day!

It seems that ghosties like cats!

First cup of coffee in the morning.

When hanging with your friends.

Bedtime!

To celebrate this holiday, go hang out in a haunted house, or tell everyone that you are going to hang out in a haunted house but then just stay home.

For Caturday, and today's full moon, a photo from August 2025's full moon, artified with Prisma's Bouquet filter.

Pirated Moon

September 19 is Talk/Meow Like A Pirate Day!

Celebrated to give us all something to be silly about.

September 19 is also International Observe The Moon Day!

A worldwide public program that encourages observation, appreciation, and understanding of our Moon.

A few random moon photos of mine:

For Caturday, one of Da Boyz was lurking in the kitchen, and the photo snap had his eyes like automotive headlamps.

Artified with Prisma's Lantern filter, I think it's purrfect for this changing time of year.

You've Got This!

September 12 is National Day of Encouragement.

"The National Day of Encouragement in the United States was announced in 2007 and occurs each year on September 12.  It is a day to uplift and encourage people to make a positive impact in their lives." - Wikipedia

For Caturday, I played with an image of our tough-guy Henry, who is doing well.

No recollection as to which Prisma filter I used, only that it created a moody vibe for Henry, and plus you can see his wee teefs, and those big eyes!

Leisurely

 It's Caturday!

Chili Bruce was so cute lounging on the Pink Blue chair.

Using my Prisma app, I used the following filters to get the right color combination:

Porthole
Tenderness
Comet

CB looks cartoony, and I like the way his whiskers show up against the undulating blanket background.

P.S. I was unable to comment on many blogs on Friday; don't know if it was because we lost power for a little while, or if it was a Blogger thing.

I'll try again today.

Twenty-Two

The Hubby and I became cat pawrents when we brought Angel and Chuck home on August 29, 2004.

Angel and Chuck, December 2004

Chuck, January 2005

Both, February 2005

Angel, February 2005

What we didn't know about cats at that time would have filled The Encyclopaedia Britannica, but we loved 'em, and we've continued to honor their legacy by adopting both inside and outside cats over the years.

You could say that Celestial Angel and Chuck were our starter cats!

❤️ Love you both! ❤️

For Caturday, I artified one of the images above with Prisma, the Moonlight filter.

It's Caturday!

Celestial Paddy O'Malley, in March, 2021, sitting on my lap.

The last artified pic of The PO'M made a difficult puzzle, so this is kinder.

Thinking of Jackie

August 15 was Jackie Avery's birthday, until she earned her angels wings earlier this year.

Her blog about Eric and Flynn was terrific, and all three are sorely missed.

Purrs for Ivor.

Therefore, for Caturday, I swiped an image from March, 2009 of those two container-loving gingers, artified it on Prisma, Star filter.

Cats Rule!

August 8 is International Cat Day!

We all know that cats think that they run to world, but they haven't yet tossed out all of the politicians!

Nevertheless, we cat-loving humans are happy to cede control to our feline friends.

Get out there, and give big smoochies to every cat you see, 'cause they are watching us.

😹

It's Caturday!

Have been looking through gobs of Celestial Paddy O'Malley images, so I grabbed one, and artified it with Prisma's Party filter.

If there ever was a cat that deserved international status, it was The PO'M!

❤️

Without Kids

August 1 is International Childfree Day.

Love my nieces and nephews, and grand/great nieces and nephews...and their pets!

Am in total admiration of folks raising children.

The Hubby and I chose to not reproduce.

The above is all in good fun, y'all!

For Caturday, we have a pensive Henry close-up, artified with Prisma's Hot Tea filter.

HB Chuck & Angel!

July 18, 2004 was the birthday of Celestial Chuck and Angel!

Their mama had four kittens; we adopted two.

I've called them twins, which isn't exact, but what the hey, right?

For Caturday, we've artified one of our favorite images of Chuck and Angel in Lunapic, K3 art effect.

❤️Happy Heavenly Birthday Angel and Chuck, and we miss you.❤️

Mom's Lap

James McNeill Whistler, born July 11, 1834, was an American painter based mostly in Europe, in the Modern art, Aestheticism, and Tonalism esthetic styles.

Arrangement in Grey and Black No.1 (1871), popularly known as Whistler's Mother, Musée d'Orsay, Paris, image found online

The iconic image is so renowned, that it is a part of our everyday life now:

"Whistler’s Mother and the Cat" by Sveta Petrova

"Whistler's Goddam Cat" by New Yorker cartoonist Kim Warp, image found online.

"Whistler's Mother" by artist Godfrey Escota, image found online.

Can't decide if she'd rather have had a cat or a baby dragon in her lap.

(Sometimes, a cat IS like a dragon...no?)

Am a fan of Whistler's work, and wish him a Happy Celestial Birthday.

For Caturday, hope no one minds that I've got a cute pic of Henry...again...that I've artified with Prisma's  Jellyfish filter.
