Asking for POTP

My great nephew made a cat drawing!

I gussied it up, using Lunapic.

The brother of this artist just underwent major surgery, and little boy is very sick.

Let's send some purring to my great nephew and his family.

Thank you.

The Last Friday!

I don't know about the rest of you, but I'm gobsmacked that it's already the last Friday in May!

Despite my amazement, this means it's time for Photo Fails!

PO'M, getting a good scratch, but it's really not a good photo of The King.
Manny, you are a little too close!
(And the neighbor's unsightly wood pile tarps makes me cringe!)
Sweetie: "Does this photo make my butt look big?"
Poor kitty, her noggin is not in focus!

The Mystery of the White Whisker

The other day, I found this on, of all places, the kitchen table:
We have NO white-whiskered cats in the house!

Where could this have come from?

A spent whisker that I had on my clothes, from some other cat?

Maybe from The PO'M, except his whiskers are long and thick?

A gift from Celestial Angel, letting us know that she has visited?
Da Boyz aren't talking, but we know that they know where that white whisker came from.

I am thankful for this person:
I tried to drive closer, to discover the name of the cat rescue that the driver works with, but alas, could not.

Keep up the good work, cat rescue person!

At A Distance

It's Sweetnesday!

"Keep your distance, human!"
"Okay, I'll allow you to get closer."
"Is sitting on your chest not close enough, human?"

Bath Time

It's PO'Monday!

His Highness lay in my lap, giving himself the once-over, as I clicked away with my phone camera...

Then, while trying to take a video of that big tongue trying to lick his floofy body, I recorded this:

Ha!  Don't know how I did that, but it's worth a chuckle.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

22 May 1859 – 7 July 1930
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Legendary creator of the Sherlock Holmes character

I've been a fan of Sherlock Holmes since a child.
However, in today's world, the Victorian-era stories are sometimes ponderous, archaic, and often racist, even if ripping good mysteries.

What one enjoys, is the brilliance and antics of the great consulting detective.

These days, I enjoy the pastiche stories of The Mary Russell series, written by Laurie R. King.
If you think Holmes was brilliant, wait to you are introduced to Mary!

I collect items that are a mix of that great detective, and cats!
Found on the interwebs
Image of Artemis and Apollo, from "The Maine Coone Life"
Image from a shirt of mine
Pusheen dressed as Sherlock Holmes!

So, here is a Lunapic artification,

Cat Art

Some new acquisitions to The Eastside Cats' art gallery:
A gift from my beloved sister
Two postcards by Francesa Buchko
Print by Maggie Vandewalle

Continuing to work remotely hasn't lessened my desire to decorate with cats!

The first image was a gift, however I've provided the links to the Francesa Buchko and Maggie Vandewalle Etsy shops.

Now, I have to find frames...and then space on the walls to hang these gems.

Careful!

Sweetnesday!

Sweetie prefers that human hands stay at a distance from her.
Soon, however, she sinks peacefully into the Land of Nod!
I wonder if her previous human used to smack her, or use his hands to 'play'.

I lie in bed, reading a book while Sweetie is on my chest, and the simple act of reaching up to rub my eyes will make her bite at my hands.

She has few teeth, so there is no injury, and I strive to ignore the sorrow, rage, and heartbreak that well up inside me, when I think about this kitty having had to endure mistreatment of some kind by a human, and her years spent out-of-doors, having kittens, and living rough before we found her.

As much as possible, I keep my hands flat on the bed, or I bend over to smooch her sweet noggin with my hands firmly out and nowhere near her.

Together and Apart

Twozday!

Da Boyz really like their super-sized scratcher, and spend time on it or near it.
However, they separate once in awhile.

Psychedelic!

I found that my Prisma app (which I pay a yearly fee for) has added many new artistic styles.

Today's image, of a friend's cat, looks groovy using the Michael style.

Three Years Ago...

In May, 2018, I was in England, with sisters, nieces, and family friends.

On our last full day in the country, I journeyed to Avebury, in Wiltshire.

The Avebury Henge is less known than Stonehenge, but a person has access to the stones!

Here are some pics; hope you understand the size of these monoliths.

I wore my green cat scarf, purchased in London.

Ready to take the train!
It was an experience filled with magic and ancient history.

Hope to visit England again, and plan to get to other parts of Europe too.

Don't worry, I've got plenty of places to visit in Canada and America yet!
