New Cat Tiles

Was very pleased to revisit with Sligo Creek Tile Co..
These two tiles are gifts for my niece, for her hospitality during my recent trip to New York.

I've posted before about this wonderful company in 2018, here: Cat Tile Tuesday
The two tiles above represent Magoo, above...
...and curious Eevee.

Disclaimer: I did not receive any compensation for posting about Sligo Creek Tile Co.
I'd discovered and found them on my own, and believe that you all may enjoy their art.

Take a look; you may discover something that pleases you, and the customer service is terrific.

New Cat Stuff

Greeting cards, and a postcard featuring Spooky the Bookstore Cat
A book that I've not seen anywhere else.
My favorite kind of cat book...unique!
Cat magnets.
Will sneak them onto the 'fridge.
The crazy thing is: no new cat neck scarves!

Usually, I can be counted on to score one or two when out and about, but guess Ohio's cat scarf supply was low when I was roaming there.

Disclaimer: I purchased these items for my own use and amusement, and include the shops and their websites as a courtesy to my readers.

I only post about items that I believe others will enjoy, and for no financial gain for myself.

11/11

Near Eastside Cats is Selfridge Air National Guard Base, where many serving folk are stationed.

Just being out and about in our area, there are many in uniform to acknowledge and thank for their service.

It would be terrific, however, if we didn't ever have to consider going to war, no?

2024 New York Cat Film Festival

Had the unique experience of attending The 2024 New York Cat Film Festival, at the Michigan Theater in downtown Ann Arbor, Michigan.
A few images snapped during the movie, which was a selection of short films and cartoons.

Silly, informative, wacky, somber, and delightfully full of cats!

The lineup can be found here.

Am thankful for a chance to engage with other feline enthusiasts, even if I was the only person in the audience wearing cat ears.

A portion of ticket sales is donated to a local animal non-profit, and new dates and locations are added, so keep an eye open to see if The New York Cat Film Festival will be near you.

Stylin'

15 September is Felt Hat Day!

Am so very thankful to have such EXCELLENT cat models:
Sweetie says, "Meowdy, Pardners!" in her rakishly angled felt cowboy hat.
Um...Manny looks...er, um...interesting, in his felt top hat.
CB looks daggers while showing off his felt bowler hat.
Manny, you're doing it wrong!
Disclaimer: No cats were harmed during this photoshoot, even if they obviously preferred to be doing ANYTHING ELSE but wear those hats!

May The 4th👽

Happy Star Wars Day!

I was at the movie theater on 21 July, 1978, when "Star Wars" premiered, and received this pin as opening day swag.

Am thankful to have been whisked away to a world of aliens, droids, and fascinating storytelling.
Enjoy your May the Fourth, and here are a few cats-really-are-aliens images for your entertainment:

Christopher Walken

Christopher Walken (born Ronald Walken; March 31, 1943) is an American actor.

He and his wife are CAT PEOPLE!

I've read that the actor's unique speaking style is the result of being around many for whom English was a second language, and the careful, slower cadence of their speech influenced him.

Vincent van Gogh's Birthday

Vincent Willem van Gogh was a Dutch Post-Impressionist painter who posthumously became one of the most famous and influential figures in Western art history.

In a decade, he created about 2,100 artworks, including around 860 oil paintings, most of which date from the last two years of his life.

Born: March 30, 1853, Zundert, Netherlands
Died: July 29, 1890, Auvers-sur-Oise, France

Periods: Post-Impressionism, Pointillism, Neo-Impressionism

And the subject of some comedy...

Am quite thankful for the colors, the talent, the detail that we all find in Vincent's works.

Fiends

Sure, we love 'em to pieces, yet sometimes our cats are real fiends, no?

Ahead...

For some of us, the clocks skipped an hour early this morning.

Of course, Da Boyz and Sweetie were more than happy to be fed an hour early.

The humans are lagging a bit, however...
