😹 Feeling Flushed

Valentine's Day is a subdued affair at Eastside Cats, after more years together than I can count on all of my fingers and toes.

The Hubby and I exchange little love tokens:
Valentine cut from a fancy box
Valentine painted on the wall, since covered over
Valentine made from snow!

Gotta tell you, that this year's gift was the bestest ever....

drumroll please....

The Hubby replaced the commode in the downstairs bathroom. 🚽

Yep, the too-low, weirdly flushing monstrosity is gone, and a lovely, purrfectly working model now stands in its stead.

Sheer heaven, folks, let me tell you.

Am so thankful for this upgrade to our lives...and you know what?!?

He'll do the same for the upstairs bathroom; I helped to carry the boxed beast up the stairs, where it waits in the hallway for its final resting spot.

WOOT!!! 😹

Busy At Rest

It's Sweetnesday!

During the extreme cold snap, Sweetie has been hard at work...

...as a oldster kitty, staying warm, napping her usual hours of sleep, and enjoying any bit of sunshine that comes her way!

The Sweetie Spa is only empty when Sweetie chooses to rest herself on a piece of cardboard that is atop a heat vent in the spare bedroom.

Yep, a heated beddy, or a warm chunk of cardboard.

Sweetie is definitely living the dream.

Sadly, Lola earned her angels wings yesterday.

Farewell, Calypso

Calypso and Amy and Brin is where to visit to send condolences.

Boxed Up

It's Twozday!

Recently, I'd purchased so many cans of cat food, that the store gave us a box to haul it all away in.

Of course, a new box in the house, attracts Da Boyz.
Chili Bruce
Manny
Funny how they didn't share it; it's plenty big enough for two.

Guess it's a time-share box.

Both contributed to ripping the edges with their teeth; wee bits of cardboard are everywhere, as a kind of performance art.

~AND~

Some might wonder how I can tell which cat is which in these images, but it's easy: Manny has a tiny white spot above his lip, sorta like the reverse of Marilyn Monroe's beauty mark.

International Box Day

19 June is International Box Day!

A day late, but...

International Box Day highlights the environmental benefits of cardboard boxes: cardboard is a recyclable and biodegradable material, making it an eco-friendly alternative to plastic packaging.

By celebrating boxes, we encourage sustainable practices and promote the reuse and recycling of these versatile containers.

And most cats LURV boxes!

Last Day

The last day of Winter, means it's nearly time for the Vernal Equinox...and time for some Stonehenge re-creations.
These just crack me up!

Performance Art III: An Artist At Work

Performance Art
Performance Art II

I knew that Manny was our Ar-teest, but when The Hubby was sweeping up...fur balls and performance art detritus...Chili Bruce jumped in to share his own skills and passion!

What a mess!

Therefore, I have a new 'canvas' for them to work on!

A blank canvas, ready to become art!

Let's Play, Chucky!

The trick is to get the long piece of fabric under the corrugated cardboard scratching bed, so Chucky can attack as the end peeks out the other side. The bed usually ends up being pushed across the floor! Ellen, see your crocheted toy in the corner of the photos?
