New Cat Stuff

Greeting cards, and a postcard featuring Spooky the Bookstore Cat
A book that I've not seen anywhere else.
My favorite kind of cat book...unique!
Cat magnets.
Will sneak them onto the 'fridge.
The crazy thing is: no new cat neck scarves!

Usually, I can be counted on to score one or two when out and about, but guess Ohio's cat scarf supply was low when I was roaming there.

The York Cat Crime Mysteries

I read books, and listen to audiobooks

I like mysteries, and I like cats!

Spending my downtime reading books about cats solving mysteries...oh yeah, sign me UP!

Theodore, despite his fluffy good looks, has a nose for human crime.  His human Emily has no idea that the cat is a detective, but Jonathan has his suspicions. Often going no farther than his backyard, Theodore finds he's up to his paws in trouble...and a touch of comedy!
The York Cat Crime Mystery Series, written by James Barrie
Book 1: The First of Nine
Book 2: Rear Window
Book 3: The Call of the Cat Basket

See the stack of books on the table behind Sweetie?
And that's just one baby stack of books at Eastside Cats, trust me!
I am devoted to the library...when life was normal, I'd visit multiple libraries in my travels.  I walk the shelves, looking for titles and authors that catch my fancy.

Sometimes, however, I must HAVE!
Owning books is a delight that is almost as luscious as being owned by a cat.

But how to have books without breaking one's budget?

From the website:
"AbeBooks is an online marketplace for books, fine art and collectibles where you can discover and buy the things you love. Trusted independent sellers from around the world offer for sale millions of new, used and rare books, as well as art and collectibles through the AbeBooks websites."

I thank my friend from Trout Talkin' Tabbies for suggesting Abe Books, and I'm a believer!
The York Cat Crime Mysteries were NOWHERE to be found at any local library, but Abe Books had them.
  And the price was right!

But beyond all the fur and purrs, there's something more to these felines."

I have the entire series!
So, for today's 'holiday', I am reading my copy of "A Case Of Cat and Mouse"...

A few days ago, Shirley Rousseau Murphy's Facebook page reported that there will be no more Joe Grey books.

I discovered Joe Grey in 2009, while on a 6-month layoff from my job.

There was a lot of time to read!

I purchased every book, instead of checking them out from the library...that's how much I LOVE Joe Grey!

After that, every new book was snapped up on the day it was released.

All good things come to an end, but wait...there's more!

While researching the series, I've just discovered that all of the books are on audiobook.

Woo Hoo!

I've already re-read all of the books many times, but now...I get to listen to them!

Sad to see Joe Grey, Dulcie, and their furry and human families fade away, but I'll never forget these fabulous stories.

And for those who don't know the series...I'll let you in on a secret:

Joe Grey...the cat...can talk!

And he feels it's his duty to assist the local police in solving crime.

Rocking Resale for Cats

Purchased this huge styrofoam box,
as a future feral cat home.  Just cut an entrance square,
tape silver duct wrap around inside to reflect
cat body heat, and fill with straw...voila!

My resale shopping friend gave me this tabby
cat statue!

It's adorable!  Thanks, KP!
Going in the home cat statue collection

Found this book at C Mac Neill Book Dealer in Berkley, Michigan.
His doggie was napping on the couch, so not only did I find
a great cat book, but I petted a doggie too!
Sleeping bookstore doggie, who turned over just enough for me
to pet his tummy...squee!
This book was 50 cents at Council Thrift...but it's filled with adorable photos!

This is just one photo from that book
