First Sight

It's Caturday!

May 2, 2009: our first sighting of Celestial Sweetie.

She lived outside until March 2020, when we brought her inside to live in pampered retirement.

Today, I grabbed a pic of Sweetie, used the Lunapic 'Dark' filter, then zhuzhed it a bit more.

A Year Before

Found these gems taken with PO'M's photos posted on Monday.

The Cat Hotel wasn't pretty, but it kept The 'O' Cats warm and sheltered.

The day we brought Sweetie inside was like no other...well, unless you count when Paddy O was finally safe indoors.

February 2019, and we had no idea what was going to happen just about a year later:

-First Covid Pandemic

-Significant birthday for someone at Eastside Cats

-Lost my job, but offered another (thankfully!)

-Began working remotely, and still am.

-Sweetie inside, and happy!

Hootenanny

St. Andrew's Day is a national holiday in Scotland, celebrated on November 30th. 

It's a day to celebrate Scottish culture, food, and music, and is also known as the Feast of Saint Andrew. 

Celebrations include storytelling events, street markets, and traditional music. 

In the town of St. Andrews, festivities can last a week and include pipe bands, ceilidhs, and street parties. 

The Scottish diaspora celebrates worldwide!

I started to look for pics of Outside Sweetie in October, 2020, but there were none!

That's because she'd been inside since March, and I'd started to work from home.

And by gad, I'm still working remotely...yay, me!

Bardo

Bardo is the intermediate or astral state of the soul after death and before rebirth, in Tibetan Buddhism.

In the seven weeks since Celestial Sweetie left her Earthly body, we've kept her beddy, bowls, ramp, and toys in situ, and offered love and light to her spirit.

Seven weeks for this transition time, as we've given daily thanks for her journey with us, and our prayers for her soul and all souls to achieve higher rebirths as they move toward enlightenment.

Queen Sweet the First, Miss Growly Pants, Murder Mitts, and my Swee Wee.

We'll never stop loving you.

It's Sweetnesday!

Taken in July, 2009, Sweetie was so shy.

Ten years later, August 2019, this happened!

Trust me, I was choked with emotion here.

A decade had passed, and Sweetie was happy to be so close to a human.

We also believe that Celestial Paddy O'Malley helped Sweetie gain her confidence; she watched him interact with us, and decided she wanted some of that for herself.

Now with Henry, we must rely on Manny and Chili Bruce to show her that their humans are okay, and were pleased when she interacted with them at the open back door as I shared in yesterday's post.

Sweetie taught us patience, didn't she?

He was my ❤️ cat.

PO'M's Inside Gotchaversary was 24 July, 2021.

We lost him 7 August, 2021, so neither date is very celebratory for us.

Am not lying when I tell you that I went from the highest high with joy in my heart to the lowest low in that fortnight.

Losing Celestial Sweetie, who was a part of it all, is another blow, yet having these lovely furrys in our lives has only enriched us in so many ways.

The sadness only enhances the love that we all shared, and how precious life is.
