Trills

November 30 is St. Andrew's Day in Scotland, and for the global Scottish diaspora.

How' bout some silly bagpipe cartoons to celebrate?

A personal note:

Years ago, The Hubby and I attended a jazz festival.

As we walked toward the site of the festival, we encountered the most beautiful bagpipe music.

We guessed that someone was practising in a nearby parking garage, and the music moved my soul unexpectedly.

I began to cry.

Not in sorrow, but like I'd come home; something familiar.

Never discovered the bagpiper, nor the song that was played...nor why there was bagpiping at a jazz festival.

A very unique moment for me.

Hootenanny

St. Andrew's Day is a national holiday in Scotland, celebrated on November 30th.

It's a day to celebrate Scottish culture, food, and music, and is also known as the Feast of Saint Andrew.

Celebrations include storytelling events, street markets, and traditional music.

In the town of St. Andrews, festivities can last a week and include pipe bands, ceilidhs, and street parties.

The Scottish diaspora celebrates worldwide!
