Farewell, Artemis

My original blog post: 11/29/18

Artemis & Apollo, two gorgeous Maine Coon cats from Oxford, UK, were quite the pair!

Artemis: tortie

Apollo: ginger.

My photos of pages from "The Maine Coon Life".

Sadly, Artemis unexpectedly earned her angel's wings and flew to The Rainbow Bridge in March, and Apollo and his humans are trying hard to adjust to life on Earth without her.

Such a lovely kitty, gone too soon.

Sir Arthur Conan Doyle

22 May 1859 – 7 July 1930
Sir Arthur Conan Doyle
Legendary creator of the Sherlock Holmes character

I've been a fan of Sherlock Holmes since a child.

However, in today's world, the Victorian-era stories are sometimes ponderous, archaic, and often racist, even if ripping good mysteries.

What one enjoys, is the brilliance and antics of the great consulting detective.

These days, I enjoy the pastiche stories of The Mary Russell series, written by Laurie R. King.

If you think Holmes was brilliant, wait to you are introduced to Mary!

I collect items that are a mix of that great detective, and cats!

Found on the interwebs

Aww, c'mon...too cute!

Some serious snark going on...

And I scored a bonus book bag!
*fist pump*

Today, I am very, VERY thankful to have received my "The Maine Coon Life" book, featuring Artemis, the tortie lady, and Apollo, ginger boy.  Somehow, I found their Facebook page, and I fell in love at first sight!  Check out their wee backpacks on The Maine Coon Life!  If I'd had any inkling, I would have visited these sweeties while on my UK trip earlier this year.  Guess I'll have to go back!

Gorgeous, fluffy, funny, and quite irreverent...what's not to LURV!?!
