27 September is National Scarf Day!

For you who don't know, I am a scarf aficionado.

Have hundreds of scarves.

Surprisingly, I only have 10 cat scarves!

Whaaaaattt?!?

Yes, there are only nine in this photo; one is a winter scarf, and is packed away.

I wear all of these, and will find more in my quest to have the purrfect scarf for each outfit.

Hmm...funny.

I don't have any neck ware FOR the cats!

Jury Duty

 I report for jury duty selection this afternoon!

To look professional, I will not wear one of my new cat t-shirts, but will wear some tasteful cat items:

Three Years Ago...

 In May, 2018, I was in England, with sisters, nieces, and family friends.

On our last full day in the country, I journeyed to Avebury, in Wiltshire.

The Avebury Henge is less known than Stonehenge, but a person has access to the stones!

Here are some pics; hope you understand the size of these monoliths.

It was an experience filled with magic and ancient history.

Hope to visit England again, and plan to get to other parts of Europe too. 

Don't worry, I've got plenty of places to visit in Canada and America yet!

I attended the Meow MeetUp Chicago recently, in Rosemont, Illinois.  My previous post about the trip was: Postcards From Rosemont: Pft-pfft!

Here is what she told me:

Angel:

Being separated from Da Boyz is great, and she wouldn't mind a bit more human contact.  

She asked for more attention to her hairball issues.

Angel is fine with Chuck's death; his spirit visits her.

Chucky: 

His soul is at peace, and he wants me to let go of my guilty feelings from his passing.

He isn't particularly impressed with Da Boyz, since they have no manners.

He's visited several times, usually in our dreams.

Da Boyz: 

Are happy to be in the house, and they LURV their favorite wand toys!

Manny likes the ribbon; CB the Neko Flies bug.

They are unafraid of The 'O' Cats; just curious about them.

The PO'M: 

He loves me, but wants to be wild; he does NOT want to come inside...ever.

Linda told me that Angel and Chuck knew they were our 'starter' cats, and that they volunteered to join the family as teachers and guides through the tough times ahead, such as my multiple job losses and the death of my father.

Da Boyz are our 'fun' cats; they are here to teach us to play and enjoy life.

Dr. Lori Coughlin, cat veterinarian at The Cat Practice in Oak Park, Illinois, was a speaker at Meow Meetup Chicago, and she kindly answered my questions about Chuck's euthanasia.  She assured me that his passing was peaceful for him, despite how things seemed.  She explained the entire scientific process.

Linda had told me earlier that Chuck was at peace, and that his death was quiet, however Dr. Lori's words allowed me to release the dark nugget of pain that I held in my heart.

Thankful Thursday: Yay, it's done!

Just a few hours ago, I and my co-worker delivered a slide presentation, with commentary, to some of our company's top executives via video conferencing.  Even though I've met every person in the meeting, having them all looking and listening to ME...even for only half of the time...was very, very difficult.  I was sure I was going to faint!

In order to give myself strength, I wore my new Laurel Burch cat earrings, and my silvery cat scarf, gifted by Rachel from Three Chatty Cats Blog last year.

I rose an hour early, (Thank You, The Hubby!), to make it on time for the presentation, and then, of course, we had to wait...and wait...and wait.  In the end, it went smoothly: delivered, commented on, and we received high-fives all 'round!

So very thankful that it's done.  We've worked on it for close to six months, and I had my cat accessories to help give my psyche a boost. Yay! 😺

A Chance Encounter

Friday morning, I was at the optometrist.  To my wondering eyes, a gorgeous dog peeked 'round the corner, and I sank to my knees to pet this wonderful baby.  You should have heard his tail thumping the floor!

Interestingly, the employees were a bit shaken by our (dog and me) interaction, since the woofie is never supposed to encounter patients.  They offered lint rollers for the fur, and were bowled over when I snapped a photo!  I assured them that, 1) I wasn't reporting anyone to anyone, 2) I am already covered in cat hair, so a few dog hairs ain't no big thang, and 3) who would turn down a change to rub that big noggin, and pet that glorious tummy?!?

I forgot the woofie's name!  Darn!

Just because I was wearing a cat scarf, cat earrings, and a cat pin...doesn't mean that I don't adore woofies too!

Today is the 37th Firstdateoversary for The Hubby and I.  We attended a work Halloween party together, and are still an item!  He was dressed as a plumber, while I wore my great-grandmother's long lace dress, elbow-length gloves, and velvet hat.  Should have known then...

Thank you all for reading along with me; our trip to London and Bath was the trip of a lifetime!  Am lucky (!) to have broken my hand far enough in advance, so I was able to travel, and I cannot thank my sisters and nieces for assisting me with everything that I couldn't lift or grab.  My first trip on a double-decker bus was memorable; as I could only grab with my right hand, the bus taking off caused an impromptu pole dance!  After that, someone always stayed close enough to make sure I stayed on my feet, and I greatly appreciate everyone's tenderness and caring.

Cat Present Surprise!

A surprise package arrived from my dear aunt.  Cat stuff!  An adorable 18-month cat yoga calendar, a cat-covered scarf (yes!...fist pump!), and a children's book about a chicken who finds herself in the big city.  Beautiful Yetta has a talent though; she can chase off cats who are trying to snack on her new-found bird friends.

Total surprise, and the best kind of surprise!  A thank you note (with requisite cat photo on it) was mailed immediately.
