I love Mother Nature!

Can't help but snap a few pics here and there; the textures of things fascinate me.

Sunflower Surprise!

It's PO'Monday, yet my surprise occurred on Saturday.

Cheryl English, business owner, potter, friend, fellow cat lover, and Advanced Master Gardener, stopped by for a quick perusal of The Eastside Cats' gardens and yard, and a yummy meal at a local restaurant.

Before we climbed into the car to find lunch, Cheryl surprised me with a package.

A gift, from my dear dear friend ET, made to honor Celestial Paddy O'Malley.

Note the PO'M's eyes and fur.
Ignore the human who couldn't keep her lips off of the cat.
This lovely sunflower artwork, made in the colors of PO'M!
Eyeglasses are for scale...it's HUGE!
Close up so you can see the colors.
On the back, PO'M's name and a star, to denote that he's in Heaven.

Thank you, ET!

Thank you, Cheryl!

Visit Cheryl's shop at Black Cat Pottery.

The Hubby and I haven't yet found the proper location for this beauty; we may hang it on a pole in the garden, or attach it to the house nearest to where Celestial Paddy O'Malley hung out.

The bestest kind of surprise EVER!

❤️I am thankful for cats.🐈
❤️Thankful for books, and the pleasure of reading.📚
❤️Thankful for The Hubby, as we observe the anniversary of our first date on 10/31;
We've been an item since that day, and it takes both of our combined fingers and toes to add up the years since.❤️

Love is in the air

Somewhere around Valentine's Day this year, one of you lovely bloggers included a shopping list, and I HAD TO HAVE this wire frame of two cats, with their tailios in a heart.

Forgive me, but I cannot remember who you are!
Let me know, and I'll update this post to include you.
We are thankful for your post!

I gave it to The Hubby.
It's Manny and Chili Bruce!

Ordered from La Fille Creative in Nottinghamshire UK; click here to go to their Etsy store: https://www.etsy.com/shop/LaFilleCreative.

Remembering the Oklahoma City Bombing 25 Years Ago

The Oklahoma City bombing was a domestic terrorist truck bombing on the Alfred P. Murrah Federal Building in Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, United States on April 19, 1995.

Total number of deaths: 168
Non-fatal injuries: 680+

Image from Wikipedia, by Mark Pellegrino

25 years.

We thought it was the worst thing to ever happen.

Goes to show, we live in a world that moves at the speed of light.

Remember to make of your life what you will; you are driving your own bus!

No matter what can and will happen, it's how you respond to it that makes the difference.

The Hubby wonders why I allow Sweetie to wake me up multiple times a night.

My answer: I wouldn't have the chance to love on her...and she on me...if we were following a normal workweek.

I'll get sleep, but I want purrs, and paws making biscuits, and whisker kisses!

If we've learned anything for 25 years ago, it's this:

EVERY DAY is a precious time, and we each need to grab our delights while we can.

Peace and love to all.

Prayers for El Paso and Dayton

There are no words for these horrors.

Hug your loved ones, tell them that you love them at every chance.

Our time on Earth is limited, so embrace your family, friends, and the situations that you find yourselves in.  Learn and grow, and make a difference!

😭

Volunteering at All About Animals Rescue

This sweetheart is available for adoption!
Her fur is as smooth as silk, and she LURVS to lay in your lap!

Landscape clean-up

Assembly-line feral cat shelter creating!

Yep, that's me!
I wore a bright yellow bandana instead of a scarf...

Each year, the global-wide company where I am employed encourages everyone to volunteer at local charities near their place of business throughout the week.  I was team lead for an afternoon at All About Animals Rescue in Warren, Michigan.  We assisted with landscape updates and clean-up outside, and built feral cat shelters inside.  I've volunteered with AAAR several times in the past, and have taken their TNR (Trap, Neuter, Return) class.

Some of the other charitable work my office is doing includes building bicycles, working in a resale shop that funds a women's and children's shelter, making blankets for the homeless, giving a hand at a food bank, and be part of the set-up crew for a large animal adoption event at the Detroit Zoo.

Today, as we remember the terrible events of 9/11/01, it's the perfect time to reach outward to others.  Give others a hand, share a smile, put in effort with those around you.  Love like this makes this country shine and prosper, but we don't do it alone or in a vacuum.

Seventeen years ago, I sat in the company television station, as an attendee of a newsletter workshop.  Once the first plane hit, all TV screens were on, and we witnessed the coverage from every direction.  The surreal aspect of it all; the shock...I feel it all again today.  My heart goes out to all directly affected by the attacks, and believe this country can rise above anything, because we are good people in our core, who share and care for each other.  What the newspapers, talking heads or social media 'report' means nothing, because it's what's in OUR hearts that matters. And then we must do it!

Love, for our fellow humans, our fellow critters, and for The Earth, is where it's at!

Trip Recap: Purchases

Trip Recap Posts:
The Travel

And last...but not least...a few images of some of the stuff that I purchased while in the UK.

There were seven scarves total; four have cats on them!

All scarves!
Left to right:
Polka dots
Fishes
Hearts in black and white
Green cats
Blue cats
then white-on-white cats,
and teal and white cats!

Bright green!

Blue cats, on a soft grey background

White on white cats...

...and the same pattern, with a teal blue background

And this cute black cat box from the British Museum, purchased with the Egyptian cat head paperweight:

Back

And greeting cards and postcards!  Are you kidding me?!?

Picasso

Seriously, so gorgeous!

Wished I'd see this painting, but it wasn't on display

LOL!

Beautiful watercolor image!

C'mon, it's this adorable?
I also purchased a sterling silver charm of the Tower Bridge, to add to my charm bracelet.  Someday, I'll post about every charm that's on there!

Thank you all for reading along with me; our trip to London and Bath was the trip of a lifetime!  Am lucky (!) to have broken my hand far enough in advance, so I was able to travel, and I cannot thank my sisters and nieces for assisting me with everything that I couldn't lift or grab.  My first trip on a double-decker bus was memorable; as I could only grab with my right hand, the bus taking off caused an impromptu pole dance!  After that, someone always stayed close enough to make sure I stayed on my feet, and I greatly appreciate everyone's tenderness and caring.

💖Love to Dana and Nicole, Maxine and Marian!💖
Thank you Randy, for the taxi service, Mom for allowing me to borrow
some travel stuff,
And Big Smooches and Hugs to The Hubby, who held down
the fort for over a week!
