A Double Special 9/22

Autumnal Equinox: Sunday, Sep 22, 2024, 8:43 AM Eastern

At today's equinox, the sun appears directly above Earth’s equator; it’s crossing from north to south.

As usual, here are some of my Stonehenge funnies in honor of the season change:

Hey!

It's our 11th Blogoversary.

Our first post was September 22, 2013.

Before learning to blog, I would send emails to family and friends, relating the antics of of our inside cats and the outside cats.

Appreciate all of our readers, and love your comments.

THANK YOU!
❤️❤️❤️

It's Been A Decade

We started this cat blog on 22 September, 2013.

I enjoy it, because cats are highly entertaining, and love to read other blogs too.

Thank you all for your support!

Please enjoy this slideshow of some of the earliest photos of our cat ❤️❤️❤️ at Eastside Cats.

My first blog post was September 22, 2013.

What fun we've had over the years!

I am passionate about cats, and even The Hubby is willing to wear a "Cat Dad" t-shirt, if I can find one that is tasteful enough for his surprisingly picky style.

Thank you, readers; I cannot do it without you!

I've made some wonderful friends via this blog, and am grateful to my family too, who read along despite not having cats in their lives right now.
It all started with the Ghost Cat statue, which appeared on our deck one night.

A kindly neighbor brought it over as a gift, but when her knock at the door got no response, she simply left it on our deck.

Later on, while sitting with our feral/stray clowder, I spied a white cat behind me!

In the dark, it looked alive, and I spent a few minutes trying to coax the 'new' cat to me.

A surprisingly large amount of time went by before I realized it was NOT a living thing.

Which is why it was named "Ghost Cat".
😹😹😹
Note the broken ear, just like the notched ear of a feral, after TNR.

Eastside Cats 6th Blogoversary!

I made our first post on September 22, 2013:
Parking Lot Cat.

The first comment appeared on September 23, 2013, Nine Years, and it was an emoji!

By January 14, 2014, we had received three whole comments, for:
I kissed a cat...and I liked it!

And so it goes.

Before this blog, I emailed stories of our cat life out to friends and relatives, entitled "Crazy Lady With Cats".  My first tale was about "Ghost Cat", where I freaked myself out when discovering a silent, all white 'cat' on my deck.  It turned out to be a gift cement statue, but in the moonlight, it was spooky!

Here are photos that I took, but didn't include, in that first post:

Through the years, I've found a rich, loving community of blogging friends, from whom I've learned so much.  With the addition of Facebook, my cat world has expanded, and then the addition of Instagram and Twitter...the sky is the limit!

I've loved your cat, dog, fish, etc. stories, and I've mourned deeply for your losses, and been joyous when new furry and finned family members have joined the ranks.

Thank you to The Hubby, for his support!
I credit my mother for her encouragement to write about our cats.

I give props to the cat mom at William's Kith and Kin, for hers was the first cat blog that I followed.

And to a couple whom I met many years ago, P&M, whom have shown me great friendship, and who have supported my 'Cat Kook' lifestyle from afar.

Thank you all!

My bloggy business cards!

My 3rd Blogoversary!

My first blog post, on September 22, 2013: Parking Lot Cat

I didn't even post a photo!

Prior to starting this blog, I sent occasional emails to family and friends, telling amusing stories about Angel and Chuck, or the 'O' Cats.  My inspiration for cat blogging was the first one that I discovered: William of Mass Destruction (now called William's Kith and Kin).  Then I found Ingrid King at The Conscious Cat and Way of Cats by Pam Merritt.

So many of you have been instrumental in furthering and expanding my posts, and I read many blogs daily that just light up my world.  We have a terrific online community, and it's a pleasure to be a part of it. Each one brings a separate viewpoint, but we are bonded together by our love of the cats in our lives.

The Hubby is very supportive of my need to reach out with my cat stories and information, just as long as HE isn't a feature.  Well, too bad...he is very important, but I've honored my promise to not include him in any photos.  He had no idea that I've been at it for three years!

Thank you all for reading about Angel and Chuck, Patty O'Malley, Sweetie, Aries, Hobo, Sammy, George, the neighbor's cats, and everything else catty!

P.S. Please visit Katnip Lounge; Sylvester left for the Rainbow Bridge unexpectedly, and his peeps need some purrs and head bonks from all.
