My first blog post was September 22, 2013.

What fun we've had over the years!

I am passionate about cats, and even The Hubby is willing to wear a "Cat Dad" t-shirt, if I can find one that is tasteful enough for his surprisingly picky style.

Thank you, readers; I cannot do it without you!

I've made some wonderful friends via this blog, and am grateful to my family too, who read along despite not having cats in their lives right now.
It all started with the Ghost Cat statue, which appeared on our deck one night.

A kindly neighbor brought it over as a gift, but when her knock at the door got no response, she simply left it on our deck.

Later on, while sitting with our feral/stray clowder, I spied a white cat behind me!

In the dark, it looked alive, and I spent a few minutes trying to coax the 'new' cat to me.

A surprisingly large amount of time went by before I realized it was NOT a living thing.

Which is why it was named "Ghost Cat".

Note the broken ear, just like the notched ear of a feral, after TNR.

New Old and New New Yard Art

Have acquired a couple of new cat items for the gardens at Eastside Cats.
An old piece that we've had for years called Ghost Cat: gifted to us by neighbors.
New to us, but old; found recently at a garage sale.
I like the sound of the bells.
This new big kitty weighs a lot!
Here he is, waiting for me to pick him up to take him home.
Kitty now enjoying himself amid the hosta leaves, placed yesterday.
Purchased last year; I'm a sucker for star/moon combinations.
Looking a bit dirty, these three metal cats were collected over the years at local art fairs.

Crash!

Last night's wind storm caused a huge branch to break off one of our backyard maple trees.  The Hubby and I heard only the sound of leaves and twigs hitting the house, but look at how big that branch was!  Lucky for us all, the only damage was our cat statue, named Ghost Cat, was knocked off the deck.  The Cat Hotel is safe, the feeding station, and both cats survived the crash.  See Sweetie in the bottom photo, telling me to STOP taking photos and feed her!  Guess we'll be slicing and dicing wood this weekend!
