Seven Years Already?

Manny and Chili Bruce were adopted on December 1, 2017.

Where has the time gone?
This is a pic taken while the adoption paperwork was completed.

Notice Chili Bruce's lone white whisker; he lost it 3-1/2 months later, reported here, and still has
not grown another!

Da Boyz are such a spectacular pair of housepanthers; wish everyone could be owned by two such amazing fellows.

Kitty Catfe'

Visited The Kitty Catfe' of Mount Clemens!
Gus is a chonk!
He'll be up for adoption once he's lost some weight.
Gus is popular on Tiktok.

What a delightful hour spent with wonderful kitties!

Am beyond thankful that we have such a terrific resource in my town!

Gator!

My co-worker/friend and husband recently adopted Gator from Michigan Humane; the same rescue that we found Manny and Chili Bruce at.

He's about three years old, and he's a stunner.

Images used with permission

Gator is in a home with doggos and cats, and his humans are over the moon to have him.

His purrsonality is HUGE, and he's getting along well with everyone.

Someday soon, there are plans for a house, with a yard for the dogs, and a catio for the cats; we all are hoping that this dream is soon fulfilled.

Today, I am thankful for rescues, and the folks who adopt!

Yay!!!

Postcards from Meow Meet Up: The Catcade

Image nabbed from The Catcade's website
"Oh yes, I'll take a bowl of kittens to go, please!"
Watching the world go by
Zzzzzz....
These two were using each other for a pillow, and a blankie!
D'awwww!
(And I'm not talking about ME!)
This wee tortie was all over the place, and was non-stop adorable!

The Catcade in Chicago, Illinois is a unique cat cafe'; they have old-fashioned video game shells placed all around, and the cats climb in and out, like they are prizes for a high game score!  Arcade=Catcade...get it?  Visitors are asked to NOT pick up any of the cats, and it was VERY DIFFICULT to not scoop up some of the babies.  The Catcade is the largest cat cafe' that I've visited so far.  I liked their unique spin on making a fun place for adopting cats.

And yes, that bowl of kittens...two black, two ginger...was incredibly hard to resist!  🐈😻💖

Meet Mulder and Scully

Fox Mulder and Dana Scully
as portrayed by
David Duchovny and Gillian Anderson

Scully on left, Mulder is right

Adorableness!
I have always been a science fiction fan.  In 1993, a TV show "The X-Files" began, and I've been a passionate fan from Day 1.  On the internet, I joined a group of like-minded folks, who were as crazy about the show as I, and we have a deep friendship to this day!

Now, also being a cat person, I "gently" encourage any and all that I know, that being owned by a kitty is the BESTEST THANG in the world!  And friend L in Texas just adopted kittens!  She's a seasoned cat owner, but didn't have any felines for awhile.  She's named the girl and boy litter mates, Scully and Mulder, after the characters in our favorite TV show.  How cool is that!

Welcome, Scully and Mulder!  We look forward to hearing of your antics for years to come.

Two kittens...

A co-worker found this boy and girl in a field!  The vet has looked them over, dewormed, etc, and says they are 10-12 weeks old.  They are super affectionate and sweet!

They are housed in a garage, so they have shelter and food.  If anyone near Flint, Michigan thinks they can foster or adopt, please let me know in the comments.

The information just arrived in my inbox, so I've made a post for the twosome.  Aren't they adorable?

Thank You!

Introducing: Mina!

The kitten found on a busy road in August has become a real beauty!  Click here for the story.
Sweet Mina Face
Look at that belleh!

Mina is still living at the foster's home; she goes in for her tests and baby shots next week.  After that, she can be adopted.  I'm told she is ruling the roost; she has no fear of the adult cats, and takes on any kitten that comes near.  A sassy pants!  Because of her unique coloring, I thought we should call her Domino, but that is too ponderous a name for a little mite, so the foster decided on Mina.

Natural Bleach: Sunshine

Today was 'wash the litter pans' day, and I took advantage of the hot sunshine by laying the scrubbed and cleaned pans in the driveway.  By the time I picked them up again, the sun had baked the black plastic, making them HOT to the touch, and naturally germ-free!

However, since I promised a long time ago to NEVER show photos of litter pans; I mean, really...

I'll just post a few images snapped of interesting cat and nature stuff...

They are adorable!

Huge storms are roaring across Michigan right now; I'm turning off the computer NOW!

Update on 2015 Resolutions

My 2015 Cat Resolutions
Updates

For Angel and Chuck:
1) I resolve to put quality in our time together; toy play with Angel, and one-on-one with Chuck. Every day, I try new things with both Angel and Chuck - updates forthcoming
DONE! 2) I resolve to finish the transition to wheat litter, in hopes that it reduces Chuck's intestinal issues.  Only wheat litter in the boxes now!  No noticeable change for Chuck...drat!
3) I resolve to allow solutions to cat problems to grow organically with time, rather than jump to conclusions, or react with panic, or feel pressure to fix it NOW. Yeah, well...a little panic over sub-zero temps is normal, right?  Guess I'm still working on this resolution.
4) I resolve to find a new veterinarian, preferably a holistic practitioner. I think I've found one, but Angel and Chuck are doing well right now...will wait until late Spring to make appointments.

For the 'o' cats:
DONE! 1) I resolve to take both Sweetie and Patty in for veterinary check-ups in the Spring.  No more wishy-washy 'should I, shouldn't I?' about this.  Can't do it now, because we have no electricity for a heater in the barn as holding area, and it's too cold out now.  Adding to resolution: Get Sweetie back to vet for dental.  Another warmer weather item.
2) I resolve to TNR the elusive Wild Bill Russell.  Haven't seen this cat for weeks now, but I'm still looking!
3) I resolve to put Sammy's heart-shaped container in a place that I can see daily.  Where do I put such a valuable item?  When the flowers come up in the spring, perhaps I sprinkle his ashes in the memory garden I made for him; he lived out there, after all.

For friends and family:
1) I resolve to assist The Paw ProjectAlliance for Contraception in Cats and DogsBest Friends Animal SocietyPaws for the CauseAll About Animals Spay and Neuter Clinic and others in as many ways as I can!  I hope to do at least one project for each this year.
2) I resolve to encourage all cat-loving people that I meet to give 100% of themselves to their feline family members.  Keeping my patience with co-workers who tell me horror stories about their animals, or by calmly fielding angry or insulting comments from people during adoption events WITHOUT turning bright red in the face...

For myself:
1) I resolve to work on my own health, so I can offer positive vibes and attitude to the hubby, my people and cat families, and to my co-workers. This includes physical exercise and mental relaxation.  2015 is my year for joy, humor, and growth!  Um...well, it's only February...and it's freezing cold, and the office move to the new location has hit eleventy million snags.
2) I resolve to re-establish electricity to the barn, by sweetly encouraging the hubby to GET IT DONE.  Arg, now he's thinking the money would be better spent on plumbing upgrades...got to keep him on track here!
Smilin' Sammy...how I miss your meows!

Beautiful Babies!

These three kittens belong to the mother cat that we tried to TNR last week.  She did not show up to the party; must have lost the invitation!  Will try again tomorrow, near sunset when she is usually seen.  In the meantime, her three kittens are inside now, being socialized, and await adoption.  I've petted and cooed over each one!  The little black kitten in the bottom two photos may have an eye issue, and she'll be seen by a veterinarian next week.  The kitten with the mask is also a girl; the top photo is a boy.  If you know anyone who is interested, put in a comment!  We are in Metro Detroit, but I would make a road trip...the autumn colors are perfect right now.
