The Garbage Truck Cometh

On high alert
Something about the noise made by the garbage truck this morning sent Angel and Chuck flying up the stairs!  They sat up there, staring down at the door, watching the street with intensity and concern. The hubby and I could not lure them to their breakfast at all.  By the time I'd left for work, at least Chucky had ventured down to take a few bites of food only, and Angel wasn't having any of it.
"Don't mess with our stuff!"
Angel has growled at the garbage truck in the past, and she growls when the fire engine goes by from time to time.  Cannot persuade her that the trash needs to go away, and that the trucks are NOT going to bother her, or come into the house, or cause her any harm.  Wonder if there is a noise those big truck engines make that humans do not hear, while cats can.

    1. Well, I guess it's good to know that it's not just Angel who has a fear of trash trucks! If that's helps in any way...probably not...

  4. The garbage trucks that come here are really noisy! So we understand Angel and Chuck's reaction.

  5. We don't mind the garbage trucks so much. In fact, some of us will watch when they are in front of our place! Across the way someone gets water delivered and THAT truck makes a huge amount of noise, including hissing and belching. We don't like that at all.

P.S. My old bro Eddie used to growl at cars and then hide!

  7. Looking at it from a cat's perspective, it is easy to see how scary it would seem. I once put out a big TV set for special pickup. When they put it on the truck and activated that scruncher it just bit down on that huge TV and shattered it like it was nothing. If I was a cat seeing that happen, I'd be terrified. I am sure at one time or another cats see these things and then never forget. Curiosity might kill the cat, but not the garbage truck!!!
