Bird Help

January 5 is National Bird Day.

Learn more by clicking here, at the Avian Welfare Coalition website.

We will not purchase items made with feathers, as they are illegally sourced.

My video above are all of wild birds or birds cared for at zoos, except one Amazon Parrot who has been a part of a family for decades, and who I've had to pleasure of bird-sitting.

Am no bird expert; I just like them, and want to help them survive.

Part of my drive to remove all non-native species of plant from our property, is so the local birds, bees, bats, and mammals can enjoy.

  1. This year there has been a great southern migration of pine siskens. I'm usually lucky to see a couple but I have probably a flock of 50 this year. And boy do they eat.

  3. We have lots of birds around here and our well fed and aging ferals never seem to bother them.

  5. We love our birds too. We feed them and try to make sure they are cared for. We have tons of hummingbirds this year. They know there is food and many stayed.

  8. I didn't know about the feathers, although I've never bought things with feathers. My current coat is from a company called SaveTheDuck. It's one of the best I've ever had.
