How To Freak Me Out!

How To Freak Me Out: Don't show up for dinner, and then don't show up for breaky!

Yep, Sweetie didn't show for breakfast yesterday, and neither cat was around at dinnertime.

Where was my Patty?  He's ALWAYS around...?!?

I tried to damp down my panic, with the knowledge that it's rather cold, with a hefty wind-chill.

When I stepped up to the feeding station this morning, again...all was silent.  My freak-out mode was quickly engaged!  OH NOES!  Where are they?  Are they okay?  My babies....!!!!

After about 30 seconds, while my galloping, panicked heart was thumping away, a noise was heard from The Cat Hotel.  Sweetie came out first, with bits of straw stuck in her fur.  Patty O'Malley followed hard on her heels.  They both stretched (doing that Halloween Cat look, without a puffy tail), then marched straight for me and my open arms.  Much cooing, smooches and petting followed, then kibble was doled out and everyone RELAXED into their roles: the cats, as eaters...and me, as happy cat mom.

Apparently, they decided to buddy-up for the night's napping, and had to disentangle themselves before stepping out of their warm, comfy accommodations.  Hence the lag in my called greeting, and their appearance.

WHEW!

To ease my unnecessary stress level, I found some funny Sweetie and Patty pics.  Enjoy!

Never knew where Patty came from,
but obviously he grew from our planter!

Dignity is not Patty's long suit

(Doesn't all that greenery look heavenly?  We are expecting a slight warm-up soon (over the freezing point during the day), but it's still February, and we are still in Michigan.)

  4. I begin to panic too when our strays don't show up. Well some of them may not be strays so are just staying home. I understand you worrying about your two. Smart kitties to snuggle up in this cold! Great photos of the kitties, love seeing all the green!

  14. Always a relief to know they are safe. I'm sure being well-fed and cozy occasionally makes mealtime a little less important.
