What 2020 Taught Me

Things that I learned in 2020:

PATIENCE: Sometimes, choosing to wait to see what happens works to one's advantage rather than pushing for answers.

TAKE IT IN STRIDE: When pouring cat kibble from a large bag into easy-to-use receptacles, there's a 50/50 chance on whether I'll neatly fill everything, or spill nuggets all over the place.

DEVOTION: Being a human cat bed is what I was meant to do!

STAYING YOUNG: I am NOT ready for retirement, but I wouldn't mind having more free time to visit museums, wander nature trails, travel with friends, and knock down my 'to-do' list.

CONTINUED LEARNING: I love my library, and am grateful for the work that the staff does, despite these germy times.  This is why I volunteered to be on the Board of Directors.

THE TRUTH: We human do not make the rules; the cats are in charge!

GETTING BACK TO NATURE: I'm no green thumb, but planting and caring for the garden, while hoping to attract wildlife, is a really awesome sensation.

  8. The biggest thing this year has taught me is to appreciate what I have. I suffer with depression due to my medication and when I am more down than usual we would go off for a few days which would cheer me up. In 2020 we didn't get away anywhere and I really miss our holidays. Then I remind myself that there are hundreds of thousands of people who have succumbed to Covid who will never have another holiday. Talking about holidays in these times may sound flippant, but it is not meant that way.

  11. This has indeed been a miserable horrid year . I already have patience and discipline but boy, it, my discipline and patience has been tested like Consumer Reports was running the show on Patience.

  14. Sitting on mum is one of the best things to do. Soak up her warms. Happy new year.

Mum used to be on our local library board. She stepped aside after 10 years to give someone else a say.
