  1. Routine declawing is less common, but I'm always disappointed to see it as a basic service (like kitten vaccinations) offered on vet's websites.

  2. It would be nice if all vets refused to do this unless medically necessary for whatever reason.

Have a fabulous day and week. ♥

  3. It would be great if it could be forbidden just like here ! Purrs

  4. We agree, don't do it. Our Dolly was declawed and then dumped by her previous so called family. It's just not right.

  5. It has been illegal in the UK since 2006 but was rarely done before that. I wasn't sure of the date it became illegal so googled it. I can't believe I saw this when I was looking!
"Between 3 and 6 months of age is ideal. Typically, our veterinarians suggest you declaw your cat at spay or neuter time. For many cats, that's around 5 or 6 months of age. If your kitten is already spayed or neutered, we may perform the declaw surgery earlier."
    It should be banned worldwide!

  6. What a barbaric thing to do, it should have been made illegal before it was ever allowed!

  7. Declawing is so awful. Anyone who gets this done to their cat deserves to have the first joint of all their fingers removed.

  8. I am glad our province outlawed that practise a few years ago!!! It is a nasty thing to do .

  9. Thank goodness we all know better now!!!! Their little nails don't even disturb anything in our home. They love their scratchers and we trim their nails with almost no fuss from them!

  10. It is illegal where we live too, but our vet says she still gets asked! It does not take that long to clip nails. Thanks for posting this! Have a marvellously happy day!

  11. It is the worst thing you can do to an animal. Inconceivable. Cruel. Torture. People who de-claw should go to prison.

  12. My very first and so beautiful kitty girl had been declawed by her previous owner. I can only presume she had adjusted tho it broke my heart and sadly one time, only once ~ when she escaped the house, gone only perhaps 10-12 hours, she came home tattered and torn. I knew from her injuries she'd been unable in any way to defend herself. Declawing is wrong, insane, against nature in every way.

  14. I would rather have scratched furniture and even little scars (lol) any day than cut off the tips of an animal's toes. ~nods~ Be well!
