From the United States Geological Survey:
"Although extinctions occur naturally, the current rate of plant and animal extinctions is much higher than the natural or historical rates.
Habitat loss is the primary cause of higher extinction rates.
Other causes include habitat changes, over-exploitation of wildlife for commercial purposes, the introduction of harmful non-native species, pollution, and the spread of diseases."

Henry Update:
As predicted, Henry ate up food overnight.
However, he only licked one bowl clean, but left the other!
Both bowls had fiber powder mixed in, so that theory is falling apart.
Despite his confusing modus operandi, he's at least eating SOME, and there was evidence of poop-logage.
The Kid has been prowling around Henryville, and found a new place to hang out in the bright sun.
Took this photo while hiding behind a door, so as to not spook him from his new perch.
~~~
It seems Henry is trying his very best. And hopefully his best will just get better. At this moment he might be the endangered species.
ReplyDeleteYet Henry is stubborn, and I am stubborn, and while his quality of life is good, we will soldier on. Just came up with a sneaky idea on how to get that fiber powder into him without putting it in his food; details to come.
DeleteAt least he is hanging in there... Henry, just get down to business and eat regularly so I can stop worrying about you. I am all for Endangered Species Day. Your new sun spot has some great lighting for picture taking.
ReplyDeleteThanks, I thought the sunshine made Henry look even cuter than usual also. We are still in the experimental stage with these meds, so tweaking the delivery method is going to take some time. His new antibiotics should arrive today, and we'll see what happens next; it's almost an Agatha Christie mystery story.
DeleteHealing Pawkisses for you sweet boy๐๐ผWe hope you're health impurrs day by day๐๐ผDouble Pawkisses for a Happy Weekend to you and your mommy too๐พ๐ฝ๐
ReplyDeleteThank you! Purrs to you all too.
DeletePurrs continue for Henry.
ReplyDeleteThat's kind of you, thanks.
DeleteThat is a wonderful photo of Henry. Mom laughed at your method of capturing it. That’s pretty much what she has to do to get a photo of Raleigh. Henry looks fabulous. Hope he keeps eating at least something. Mom laughed at your comment on our post. “Living the dream” was our dad’s go to phrase. He has changed it to “living in the moment!” That s something he has trouble with, so it is a reminder to himself! Probably just as annoying to others. ReplyDeleteThat phrase was something that my co-workers would ALWAYS say, which really meant SNAFU (situation normal, all f*cked up). Am glad to be out of that atmosphere! Henry really is a sweetheart of a kitty; he could really run away from me, since I shove globs of meds down his throat twice a day, but he just snuggles up and it melts my heart.
DeleteHenry ~ you look adorable and so precious ~ great photo ~ Hugs ^_^
ReplyDeleteThank you; I think he was a tad dismayed that I'd found his new hangout!
Deleteit’s beyond sad what WE have done to this planet and WE have no one to blame but ourselves ๐คฌ๐คฌ๐คฌ
ReplyDeletehenry…dood…15 centz anda sack oh friez sayz de bowl ewe dinna eat…had BURD in it ๐ธ๐พ๐๐‼️๐๐ผ๐ฆ
Humans are the worst.
DeleteWell, some bird but a lot of tuna and shrimp.
maybe we need a pet psychic to ask Ahn-ree what izza wrong wif himz
ReplyDeleteGidget, the cocktail of meds that he's taking is bound to mess with him a bit. We are simply trying to find the sweet spot.
DeleteThe only species that deserves to be endangered is us human, we mess up most things. Henry, keep eating sweet dude.
ReplyDeleteHumans are the worst, to the planet, and to all living things. Thank you for the cheering for Henry!
DeleteHenry...I always think of you. PLEASE get better and give your mom a break from worrying so much.
ReplyDeleteThank you for thinking of our boy. And yes, The Hubby is always suggesting that I need to be calm and wait. But does being told to be calm EVER calm someone down?!?
DeleteI am glad Henry ate something. XO
ReplyDeleteThanks! It's a matter of timing; mine versus his. I'm learning to adapt, but don't tell The Hubby.
DeleteHe likes to be sneaky with his eating :)
ReplyDeleteExactly; you've hit the nail on the head!
DeleteSweet Henry, please put your family at ease. :D Hugs, my dear.
ReplyDeleteHe's trying to figure it out, as we are too. In fact, as I type this, I can hear him licking at his food bowl!
DeleteConservation is everyone's job, which is probably why it's so hard to get things done.
ReplyDeleteHenry, please eat and keep eating.
Then the question is, what was the difference between the bowls??
