Let's Not Ban Animals Nor Books

Banned Books Week 2026 takes place from October 4 to October 10, 2026, with the official theme:

“Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.”

Sponsored by the American Library Association and the Banned Books Week Coalition, the annual event spotlights intellectual freedom and ongoing nationwide censorship efforts.

October 4 is World Animal Day!

😹

Yeah!

Same for any book!

  2. If the books get published in the first place the name must have been good enough to put on the shelf and stay there for people to choose to read.

  3. People should be able to read any book they choose. I love all animals and libraries.
Take care, enjoy your day and the week ahead.

  8. If one picks up a book and finds the content unacceptable to them, they can out it down. Recently, a kid in school was not aloud to check a book out of the library that was two grades above his ready level. Ridiculous. Happily, that situation was rectified. Mom misses Calvin and Hobbes bunches. Our mom agrees ... no movies or tv shows where an animal dies for her either. XOCK, angels Lily Olivia, Mauricio, Misty May, Giulietta, Fiona, Astrid & Sawyer, Lisbeth, Calista Jo, Cooper Murphy, Kizmet, Audrey, Raleigh, Gibbs & Tali

  9. No book should be banned. Some may not have to be available everywhere, but every book should be available somewhere.

  11. We say NO to book banning! If you don’t like the book, don’t read it!

  14. I am all for leaving the books be. I won’t read some of them, but you may if that’s your cup of tea.

Also, I’d like to point out all the “noodles” are not dangerous, just those with venom.
